Response to RE: Hunter Shooters
Your experience shows.
My thoughts on comparing scores between classes is the same as yours. I don't have a problem recognizing the high match score, but don't believe an award or medal should be given. I believe the top shooters in every division start a match with the objective of shooting the high overall score, only one person will achieve the goal. I think it is an accomplishment that should be recognized. I even know a couple of Piston shooters who's match goal is to beat every PCP shooter, crazy huh! (Oops, some of them do it frequently)
I wish you and Paul would share your secret about ballistic advantage for the hunter class as I believe there are some of us that have been looking for this holy grail for many years now. If such an advantage exists why aren't the open and WFTF shooters using it?
I couldn't agree more with your statement "If you ask me, the seated FT position is the sports single most glaring holdback to growth and the most misuderstood and under trained aspect for beginners." When people indicate that if we neuter Hunter class ever more, it will force many to move to Open and WFTF they are dreaming. People shoot Hunter because it is the most comfortable position for them to shoot from and most likely mimics how they have been shooting their whole life.
Didn't UK HFT get its start over rules differences of opinion with the FT powers that be at the time?
Thanks for the input
