Response to Merging into OPEN would be more in line with AAFTA's mission statements .......

What you describe is exactly what I envisioned. Open class in almost all the shooting sports means just that open to any and all legal ideas. Unfortunately the long history and entrenched techniques of the Open class in FT makes it the sacred cow of the sport. Quite honestly I agree with them, let sleeping dogs lay. They are the second most populous class behind hunter (even with no piston support) and have the longest history in the sport.

I think the addition of an Unlimited/Freestyle class will probably pick up the charter of the Open Class. It will also rob shooters from both the Hunter and Open Classes, but only time will tell who the survivors will be.
