Response to Mission Statement..??? Scott I see your use of the quote of
"How is moving a class with its established equipment and methods into another class, (open) as has been suggested, fitting the mission statement?"
I'm not advocating changing Open at this point - but fixing the mission statement might be a good thing
Freestyle is a means to an end. Any move into it would be voluntary.
"Would not state of the art be more aligned with adding things like, laser ranging scopes, weather and wind calculating gauges (like the Rowan Engineering Digital side wheel, etc), be truly "State of the art" and "innovative"?
Yes it would. And attached bipods, quick-sticks, laser sights, digital devices, and more. That's Freestyle as we know it.
"I spent $500 for my coast and $69 for the harness. Should I just throw them out or sell them?
No one is proposing to disallow those. So keep using them. I've had to abandon equipment because of rule changes and don't appreciate it. Fortunately, the suggestions currently being talked about don't require that.
"Move to WFTF where I still can't use the harness that keeps my back from hurting?"
If you like the harness, what's forcing you into a Division where it's not allowed?
"It is dictated that I have to change or else get out of the class."
"Is that the mission statement?
Where is that dictated? Who said to else change or get out of the class. No - that is not the mission statement. You can keep shooting the way that you currently are.
"To force established classes and their rules, (which none of us are bitching about I don't think) to be compliant because another group is unhappy with the status Que?"
That has happened before and the resulting changes have been detrimental in my opinion. Fortunately, that's not the case now.
