Knee risers on springers?

Anyone been sucessful using a knee riser attached to a springer like HW97 or TX200? I have MAC1 hardware attached to rifle and a flat birch plate on bottom. Makes a great adj setup, and really helps with comfortable ranging/shooting, but I shoot lower scores/less consistent with it than my normal technique shooting with stock on my fist on knee.Seems the recoil with the rest is inconsistent due to the contact point betwen the rest plate and knee being slightly different each time. Flat plate to round knee equals lots of variability. Whats your take on this?
