Steyr LP1/2/10 owners: Do you have a scope?...

I'm wondering how much of an issue the cocking lever is for scoping these single-shot Steyr's (pictures of your scoped setup would be great).

Thanks,
HookEm

Scoped an LP 50

with a 2X Leupold EER. OK for plinking but if your plans are for FT I'd go with something much taller and don't worry about the eye relief. (for FT)

FT Pistol

Hey Leo.

If you look back some months ago... Donavan posted a nice rig that he put together with a Match Pistol. Looks just like the LP1. In fact, I believe he said it was the same gun? I'm not sure, but it is a very nice looking setup.

Here is the old link:

Here is the gun as it is today: It is an Anschutz LP@

May 21 2010, 4:36 PM

that was made by Steyr for Anschutz. The main difference is that the Steyr is shrouded and the Anschutz has the weight on a rod running parallel to the barrel. To set up your Steyr similar to this would require removing the shroud. I hope this helps

This five shot group was shot from a seated FT position at 25yds with AA 8.4gr pellets.

Excellent, quick follow up questions...

May 21 2010, 6:49 PM

Hi Donovan,

Could you please get me a link to the "Benjamin/Sheridan intermount & weaver rail kit from Pyramyd Air"?

So, I assume those are Weaver-type high mounts (as opposed to mounts for standard 11mm airgun rails).. how about a link for the mounts? happy.gif. BTW, I suppose the scope is mounted just high enough to clear the cocking lever (so standard-height mounts would out be out of the question, right?)

How is the Pistol working out for you? Is the power level up-to snuff for PFT use?
You sure did a nice job with it... Looks nice!

Thanks,
HookEm

If you need one, I have one laying around

May 21 2010, 7:57 PM

Hi Leo.  If you decide you want to try one of these, I have an unused one on hand, along with a set of weaver low mount rings.  Just let me know.

Yes. This is the mount that I am using. I had to make a copper

shim so that it would fit the barrel properly.

Thanks for the compliment. I turned up the velocity to an average of 590fps using AA 8.4gr pellets. I find that to be enough power for PFT use. The gun is dead calm with no recoil. I don't remember the brand of the scope mounts (I will try to find that info) but it mounts the scope high enough to clear the cocking lever. It is definitely a pleasure to shoot this pistol.

I have not been shooting it much because I am busy trying to master my EV2.

I wonder if this would work on that barrel: Weaver/Picatinny scope rail for IZH-46...

Another Option

May 24 2010, 2:19 PM

Is the Ken Light mid rise mount attached to the Weaver adapter.

[linked image]

These work well for a "Taco" hold while shooting off hand and the riser would be nice for a sitting position.

They're about $100 from Ken Light manufacturing.

Airguns are a gas
