Falls Towship Rifle & Pistol Possible Night Shoot

The club's dedicated air gun range has 2 huge halogen lights (millions of candle power) to fully illuminate the entire 60 yards as well as the shooting line. Since air guns are almost silent in comparison to power burners, this allows us the luxury of using the range at any time of day or night.

Here's what I was thinking about doing this Fall when the temperature in the North East drops back to the 50's & 60's.

A cash speed derby - Some small "buy in" amount gets you a seat in the first heat.

You and 3 other competitors all have 10 air gun silhouettes set up at some predetermined distance.
At the sound of the buzzer you all race to knock them down.
Magazine users will have to load all pellets after the starting buzzer to keep it fair.
First person to knock down all the animals moves on to the second heat, and so on.

Last two people race head to head for all the cash in the pot.

The air gun range has an out building with lights, and screened in porch with fans, and port-a-potty.
There is a fire pit and BBQ for us to use too.

I'm seeing (in my mind's eye) people eating hot dogs by the fire pit while waiting for their turn to race on some Fall Friday or Saturday night.... Hanging out, shooting air guns and having fun.

I'm looking for interest levels from the folks who come out to our matches..... Is there any??

Chime in please!

Very interested if it's a bench shoot. But not off hand.

I'd say we'd lean towards some supported position, but probably not a bench either.
AAFTA, Hunter, Seated, Kneeling, or standing would all be OK I guess.

The actual rules would be decided after the groups consensus is tallied.

I vote for a Saturday evening since I have to come through Philadelphia to get to FTR&P. Rush hour traffic is impossible.

Interesting idea.
