CW Megaslammies was first introduced into the genre in 2000 as a way to congratulate it's players on the hard work that they have done. An e-fed no matter how well established it is, is nothing without it's players.
When CW was re-opened we, and to this day, was faced with being the underdog. Despite this, the players that worked to keep the e-fed going: Gojinn, Red Spyder, Creeper, Charon and it's temporary players as well performed many have believed was the impossible. CW thirved and produced compelling and interesting storys that invited everybody to participate. We furthered storylines that weren't finished on CWE and pushed into many multiple storylines that had a fluidity and didn't bore you to death. Anywhere from the controversial ending to the CWE storyline -> to CreatureMania 7 and the stories we didn't know about that happened were all played out perfectly and most of all it was fun.
CW didn't have any roster issuse (minus a few non roster issues) which sometimes comes from having too many roster members. Together as a team, we held CW up with a small roster for over 2 years with quality, inspiration and determination.
For the awards themselves and what they mean to the players is one of my ways for saying thanks for working on this very long project and sticking through the tough times - completely overlooking the critics and do what this game was intended and that was to enjoy yourself and have fun playing out a virtual alternative reality. I know that as the years passed by since 1999, the e-fed genre faced it's ups and downs with the dot-com boom. Many have wondered why I continue to run this e-fed, well it is my promise and determination as a friend to keep going for as long as possible so that we don't forget where this game came from and don't forget the memories we developed in it's many long years. And most of all, this genre kept COTNs together after the fall of UT.net. CW is celebrated and respected for never giving up, even when all seemed to be at a lost. Whatever will come of the game in the years to press on will be up to the players- but I want for everybody to know I will be right here even with my crazy schedule, supporting CW.
The re-opening of the CWE board is my gift to the players. I wish for you to enjoy the stories and exciting events the way they were last seen when the CWE was opened. And I also am very excited to see what will developed here with the new focus for CW.
With all of this said.... let's finally get on with the awards to include two years worth in CW!
