It was a couple of minutes after the match had finished that a slow motion shot of what had transpired behind Doom's back was played on the huge creaturetron screen. Doom glared at the shot of Charon nailing Brandon in the head and then was jostled as paramedics made their way to the ring. Brandon had still not moved and Doom was concerned that there might be something wrong and when the paramedics couldn't bring him round and called for a gurney she felt panic beginning to rise in her chest.
The paramedics slid a neck brace onto him and secured his head so he couldn't move it, it took four of them in a co-ordinated effort to lift him with minimal movement and put him gently onto the stretcher. He was quickly covered and secured, with another paramedic administering oxygen and another securing an IV line. The stretcher was lifted and wheeled with Doom keeping pace right up to the ambulance.
The paramedics lifted him up into the back of the ambulance and without any thought Doom followed them. She sat in silence for the entire journey holding onto his hand, willing him to wake up. Paramedics had taped his worst injuries up and yet he still remained unconscious.
Once they were at the hospital, Brandon was whisked away leaving Doom behind in the reception area giving the receptionist Brandon's details.
