RAS 9.0 / ReportViewerBean / swing

November 13 2002 at 2:52 PM

Environment:
Windows 2000 Professional SP2
Java 1.4.1_01
Crystal Reports Developer Edition 9.0
Web Server IIS
Browser Version I.E. 5.5 + SP2
Web Viewer Java
Database SQL Server 7.10

Has anyone succeeded in using the ReportViewerBean to display a report in a swing application? I tried with your Report.java and the .jar you provide but it does not work with 9.0. I get a "No response from server", which is different than "can not connect to server" (this happens when the url I specify is wrong)
I looked in this forum and it looks like I am not the only one having this problem. Any help/idea would be greatly appreciated.

What Happens when you try viewing the report directly though the browser.Does it prompt the same error message?

No, I don't get any error message through the browser. I assumed my installation of RAS was ok as I could see my report with ePorfolio lite. But as ePorfolio does not use the ReportViewerBean, I can't tell what's wrong. I tried also to install the hot fixes but it did not change anything.

ReportViewerBean can not work with RAS 9.0

Just had Crystal technical support on the phone. They told me that ReportViewerBean can not work with RAS. It used to communicate with WCS but WCS does not exist anymore in version 9.0.
