'Three's company', was based on 'Man about the house'

I'm from Britain, and there used to be a popular sitcom here in the 1970's called 'Man about the house'. If you look at the closing credits of 'Three's company', you will notice that it is based on the british sitcom 'Man about the house'. Anyway, 'Man about the house' ran from 1973-1976 and there was a spin off sitcom created after it, featuring the british Ropers called 'George and Mildred'. That was actually more popular than 'Man about the house'. Personally I think that Man about the house was the superior of the two. I think that Suzanne sommers was prettier than her british counterpart, and joyce Dewitt wasn't as pretty as the british girl who played her character. Those writers had dirty minds back in the 1970's! Those old sitcoms were full of sexual innuendo's! I suppose nothing much has changed, they're just more upfront about it now.
