Halter, a graduate of the ' Ecole Horlogère de Paris'in the early 80s, started his career as a restorer of vintage clocks and watches but soon changed paths to develop movements for major Swiss houses such as Audemars Piguet, Breguet or Frank Muller. He founded his own company in 1993 - Janvier S.A. in St. Croix Switzerland - named in homage to Antide Janvier, one of the master watchmakers of the reign of Louis XVI.
