That's a tough one, isn't it. I think honesty is certainly important, but how much you say should depend on the child's age. The way you described it, it sounds like you probably did handle it ok. Kids aren't always gonna be happy with our decisions, and they won't always understand why we make the decisions you make. But you are keeping yourself, and your children, safe this year, and that is what is important. As she grows older, hopefully she will understand better. Good luck!
