what a sad thing

I wonder how you came to have her in the first place?

I have a dog and I would feel terrible to give her up. But FWIW, the pounds and humane societies do a pretty good job of placing these animals now. People are more aware of their presence and the animals in the paper are so expensive. If she is as great a dog as you say (I'm sure she is but I just couldn't think how else to say it but I am not questioning your judgment about her, ok?) I bet she gets a great home.

One thing though, don't go back there or call them up. I went to visit a cat I had to leave every day once when I was moving and it was heartbreaking. And in the end I never found out who got her anyway.
