Well that has happened to me before, mostly they will just pretend it never happened. But why would you be ashamed of your natural reacions? You didn't ask for the abuse. They will act normally because they are ashamed that they sit on their hands and let this stuff happen. I wouldn't sweat it. All you did was show them a little piece of your human side.... you honoured them. I am pretty sure that no matter how far away from the events you grow, there will still be a human response at times. If you didn't do that, what kind of person would that make you?
I would say this is more than OK, it is healthy. You spontaeously processed your feelings. Wish I could do that at times.
