Sometimes the family we create for ourselves though is the better family to have. I have a very close friend who is like a sister to me and I know that she will never abandon me and that she will always be there any time I need her. She knows about the little girl part of me and is understanding and very nurturing to that part of me and she has been a significant part of my healing. It just means so much that somebody in this world has not rejected me because of how the child part of me can be clingy at times and insecure. My biological family-is all they did was bring me into this world-they are not apart of my life any longer. I do know how lonely it can feel though when you don't feel like you belong anywhere in this world-I waited 36 years for what I have now.
