Cautiously optomistic

Yesterday I went to a doctor because I have not had one to trust since my good one left me behind a few years ago. But the old diabetic meds haven't been working very well since a little after New Years. The doc I have been seeing has no interest because it seems like the panic stuff and the SI sort of repulse her. This new one yesterday seemed to like me just fine anyway, but here is the very best part. She is giving me a new med that will not lower the sugar to a point of danger!!!! For years my biggest fear is to have the med bring my sugar too low and I could pass out and die, this is a fear for every minute of every day of my life. I am wondering if this will decrease the panic in general. She said even a person who does not have diabetes could take this pill and it would not lower the sugar too low! Now most of you do not know what this could mean to me so I will share. I am one of many in this body. Half of us do not have diabetes and those are little. When they are around, the med is still in this body, but since they are not diabetic, the sugar bottoms out!! Very dangerous situation. The little ones go to T and the T was constantly having to poke food into them. Several times she has had to save us by driving to the store and getting food if we did not have anything left with us. She is a very good T and the little ones love her, but I am sure it is a worry for her to be thinking about the sugar all the time. After we had had a lot of problems, the T gave the kids a lesson on how to take their the blood levels by themselves. The 7 year old protector took on the assignment to learn it. So for the last almost year, the little ones would poke their finger for blood 3 times during the T visit and she would tell them if they needed to eat or not. Now they will be free of that, and so will I. I won't have to poke my poor fingers several times a day any more worring about the low sugars. Just have to watch the high stuff and that is so easy for me. Also? This med protects your pancreas instead of erroding it, and actually makes you loose weight instead of the old one which made me gain! I will start taking it tonight so hopefuly it works as well as advertised. But any change in meds is very scary so it might take me a couple of days to be calm again. Also? This doc has email!!!! Yay! I can tell her stuff anytime I need to. I hope this stays as good as it seems, because I could really use a break right now.
