I like what you said about creativity, that it involves a bit of letting go and holding in at the same time. I also think it involves being willing and able to look at the world in different way than that of social conventions. Sometimes people look at that as madness. If someone has a lot of money or some kind or aristocratic background it is considered eccentricity. I like the idea of eccentricity. I think that society as a whole is kinder to "special" people such as the rich, titled, or celebrities and is willing to "allow" them to be different. I don't think anyone should be forced into a mold of social conventions. I think we (society) should be more accepting of people's differences and, in fact, celebrate those differences, without regard to whether the different person is a movie star or a duchess.

I think comedy writers are a good example of this difference. They live in the same world we do, but they see things we don't see. A talented comedian can then present that difference in a way that is hilarious, but only because we can also see that different point of view when it is laid out for us.

I am impressed that you said, "Finances are never a problem unless one makes them a problem." I had a very hard time working three part-time minimum wage jobs as a single mother with three small children, but I couldn't get anything any better. Later I went on welfare and went back to school for a year, and we survived, but there were times I couldn't buy shoelaces for my kids, not to mention new shoes. And you can't buy jeans for little boys in thrift stores (at least not in the small rural Texas town where I lived) because little boys don't outgrow their jeans, they shred them on the hoof. Finances were a horror. I'm glad you are doing ok. And I certainly agree with you that "A bit of self-sacrificing is good so that one might appreciate life and the goodness of the world that God has created."

I have enjoyed our discussion too. But I hope I am a little strange and different from others. I'd be so disappointed to be just ordinary - how boring Although I doubt there is really one "ordinary" person on the planet, one "normal" person, since normal seems to be a mathematical function - take the height of every person and average them and whoever fits the average height is "normal." But the hypothetical person of normal height is going to be different in some other way. Which is good. I'm glad there is no average, normal flower or average, normal butterfly I like plenty of diversity on my planet
