Good list. I saw most of these, and would have to agree with you. Squid and the Whale was great (I DID like Life Aquatic, though). The director is a funny one though, for some reason he refused to put a commentary on the DVD, but instead put a 40 minute (or thereabouts) audio monologue on there, which you can listen to separately (along with a slideshow of images from the film.
History of Violence was also one of my favourites. And yeah, Children of Men & Scanner Darkly (although I can't stand Winona Ryder for some reason). All good. |
