If the ball is there to be hit it should be played. Stroke 'hunting' is a thing of the past and minimal interference does now not even justify a let. If more 'no lets' are given by referees in situations where the players are looking for marginal strokes, players will not ask, but will instead play the ball which will lead to a more flowing game with points being more fairly earned.
