that's harsh, but at any level more so at 13's to have a national ranking however low / high it encourages that person to keep playing the game of squash. It gives them something to aim for.
As you said there maybe some weaker players, but they will go to the bottom, as i said it gives them something to aim for

No, don't agree at all.
There are some really good U13 boys around, really promising and young .
Obviously ollie holland and Matt Sidaway are a class above the others but there are quite a few 11 year olds and just 12 year olds who will come through over the next year or so and be top juniors.
Peter joyce, Josh masters, Richie Fallows, hamish Falconer, Ashley Davis to name just a few.

Good post Greg ..guaranteed to get a reaction !! BUT nonsense as the rankings are strong some of the tiny U13's I've seen play some great squash.(Russell Clarke, Alex Noakes, Brian harvey are very small still but skillful ) They may look weak to you now greg but can you remember what you were like at that age ?? wait to they grow they will be as good as other age groups.
U15's is really strong and look at the numbers as well...loads of them.
In the past you only got to se top 10 or 20 so obviously there were less weaker players in the rankings....duh !!

brian harvey is good at 13's but any higher and he will struggle, russel clark - nice kid and he has a great future, alex noakes is al rite but he was chopped by russel in ponte and in the bjo. Josh is promising, but his brother brad is very promising
Russel Clark, Hamish Falconer and Brad Masters have big futures!

Russell Clarke did beat alex noakes in ponte but not in the bjo !I think they are 1-1 now ! Anywy both r promising, agree brian harvey will struggle at U15 as he is more limited. Best are the Masters brothers !! Go KENT !!

Don't forget Richie Fallows !
I predict a good bunch of U13 boys over the next couple of years led by.....Fallows and Josh Masters and followed by Peter Joyce, Ashley Davis, Hamish Falconer ,Lalit Bose, Russell Clarke, Alex Noakes, Lyell Fuller and Brad Masters ( maybe Brian Harvey, Cameron Western, Joell Brickall ).

After naming most of the 13's u 4get that the recently moved out u13's will return, jake robinson, tom ford, james watkins, prendy, wesley howell and edward fairhurst, houtas...
ollie holland and matt sid move up soon to
most if not all of these have at somepoint beat some of those that u have mentioned

I was just predicting a good couple of years or so of U13 squash with some quality matches.
I was not saying that the new U15's you mention aren't good. The U15's is strong too ...I rate the Glos boys, Ford, Watkins and Howell also Prendy and Robinson.
I see no reason why Greg should think the current lot of juniors in any age group are weak...they are just the same as ever !

Don't underestimate Brian Harvey. He plays an intelligent game, sure he will need to adapt at U15 but he can do that.
Remember guys like Russell clarke, Hamish Falconer and Alex Noakes are about a year younger than the other names mentioned so those 3 should do well.
I don't think anyone under about 14 or so can really be judged anyway as so much can change.
When I was 14 I lost to almost no points in the nationals to someone I beat 3-0 in a few years time !!

Remember everyone when looking for potential at this age group it's not important who "chopped" who etc.....what you need to look for is those kids who are showing the right qualities. natural movement, speed, touch ,awareness, and attitude. Not just who is winning now.

Rubbish !
There may be a few young ones near the top but they deserve it.
Check the U15 rankings the number 1 U13 is number 8 the number 5 U13 is ranked 32 in the U15's and the number 10 would be ranked 47 in the older age group. 10 U13's in the top 50 U15's is not weak.

thats because they get their points from under 13 tournaments. to be fair there is only one promising u13 and that is ollie holland and maybe alex noakes when he is older. it is not as strong as the Adrian waller and joe lee age group. that is extremely strong. the u15 is pretty strong aswell but the u13s is not as strong.

I do hope the U13's do not read this thread ! Lets lay off the little ones !As some sensible people have said already it is far too young to know who will do what.
To say that youngsters like Josh masters, Alex Noakes, Joel Brickall,Richie Fallows etc etc et are not promising and that only Ollie Holland and russell clarke are the ones with promise really is rubbish !!!

Why all this talk about Russell clarke,
Masters, Fallows and especially Hamish Falconer( as he is younger than all of them )are light years ahead of clarke.
