Pioneer

After reading the seeding list for the Pioneer I would appreciate some explanation. If you have 0 points then you cannot be seeded above a player who has ESF points, this is according to the rules of the ESF "seeding according to the last published seeding list of ESF Junior Rankings".So how come that there are certain players that have been seeded with no points, you cannot have it both ways if you decide that it is according to ESF points then its the same rule for everyone.I dont care if its the best player in the world you have made certain statements and conditions about the Pioneer and Dutch so stick with them.Who decides that the Eygptian or Indian is better than the American and lets not forget the guy who has 9 points but still cannot get into the draw...

I totally agree with you, this ESF is being totally bias through this whole event. It's disgusting how they treat the North Americans in relation to the other squash countries.

Andrew,
The point that I raised is not about North American players but about ALL players who did not make the cut and this is not about dicrimination against North America but about fair play for all.
It seems that the organisers of the tournament are allowed 8 wild cards and they can place in a tournament whoever they want, this is outrageous
and has to be changed.I am extremly
dissapointed that we have not seen a reply from the ESF or from The Dutch or Germans after receiving so many messages on this topic,Guys if you think you can ignore these messages you are totally wrong this problem is not going to get up a walk away.
I THINK WE ALL DESERVE SOME EXPLANATION FROM THE ESF THE PIONEER AND THE DUTCH .

Let's guess who's best

July 2 2007, 1:28 PM

Just take the boys 17 draw as an example;Number 10, 11, 25, 26, and 64 ranked players have 0 ESF points yet the tournament was able to place them in the seeding list, in the order they feel they should be. I would assume they did there homework on these players, yet there are several other players coming that no homework was done. What basis and justification do these players get direct entry and not others?
Under the ESF guidlines they are allowed to give wildcards to so many players I believe it's up to 8 players yet in this draw there is only 5 players with wild cards.
In the boy's under 19 there are only 4 wildcards. This is very inconsistent.
Either you give all the wild cards out or don't write it into the guidlines at all!

Under these rules players with ESF points got bumped out of the draws. Not good enough boys!

This is even a better one: Todd Harrity the top US junior sneeked in at #64 in the Pioneer but was refused direct entry into the Dutch. The players in both tournaments did not change that dramatically to justify him no direct entry. The same for Chris Callis. The other, is one of our top North American Champions Nicholas Sachvie, being refused a wild card in both events. All three of these athletes are on their respective National Squads, with Harrity and Sachvie possibly playing in the Junior worlds next year. Thank god that they get direct entry into that one!

The bottom line is; if these tournaments did the proper homework, and due dilligence regarding qualifying all entries then they wouldn't have to guess who's best!

As far as an explanation to the inconsistencies.

I would think: 1. They can't give one!

2. How do you support such ridiculous and inconsistant seeding policies, when you are rsponsible in writing them! Better not to put your foot in your mouth.

This will not go away and I predict they make changes for next season. Lets hope who ever makes those changes has the fore sight to see the bigger picture, "World Junior Development"
