Response to excellent post Chuck, and a few Qs
The saw has some magical property that simply cuts out a groove in the plastic by just pulling the tool along the tape. A light sanding and quick clean-out with a toothbrush and you're done. You don't need to break off a bit of your JVC saw, but I did so, likely with one of my huge, gnarly thumbs- and it's got a lot more control than a free blade or one locked in its handle.
I bought the True Sander long ago for building stick-and-tissue free flight stuff. It goes nicely with The Chopper- a sort of straight-razor guillotine that makes a firly-straight cut. The sander is great for truing up right angles, squaring-off kit radio boxes and so forth. The little angle device in the photo allowed me to carefully restore that parallelogram flap- oi, what a cock-up! Not too expensive and highly useful for those of us who don't own real shop tools. ;D
