I read this question on a web page today: "Do you believe that you are
following Christ and that you are a Christian?" --
Interesting!!! Of course you do!.. I've never met anyone who claimed to be
a "Christian" who didn't believe they were 'following Christ'.
Questions like that always generate a ton of other questions in my head.
Most who claim his Name, think that's all it takes! Wanna be a Christian?
Sure! That's EASY!! Just accept Him as your 'personal Savoiur' and then
you can say you are a Christian. You are 'in the club'! You are one of the
'brethren'... As easy as 'falling off a log'!
At least, that's how it is presented.
Most evangelical "TRACTS" I've seen will go through the few minor
pre-requsites of telling you that you are a SINNER, and that you need to be
FORGIVEN. (None I've seen spend much time telling you what sin really IS..
that's pretty much left up to you to decide)... and as for forgivness, well
the Christ they preach is ready to do that as long as you accept him...
It's easy!! Just do it!
Is it REALLY all that easy to be forgiven for your SINS??? Is it REALLY all
that easy to become a CHRISTIAN?
What is a Christian??
What is SIN??
WHY does one NEED forgiveness??
What's the whole point?
See what I mean? It generates more questions. But, not many 'Christians'
want to stop long enough to consider some of them.
To those who believe they are following Christ, WHERE is He leading you???
Does the Bible confirm that destination?? Are you SURE you are following
the Christ of the Bible, or a clever counterfeit??
To those who believe they are Christians, are you REALLY?
What does it take?? And, WHO SAYS??
