The point was actually regarding God using Humans to carry out His promises (plans). He COULD have created Jesus from the Dust of the Earth, as He did with the First Adam but, He sorta used the dust that had two legs already. Mary. The multitude of ways that God COULD have had Jesus manifest in the earth are endless but, He chose to have Him born into this world through a Human. Hope that cleared things up for ya!

Interesting view! And, I agree that Jesus taught that we should be subject to the 'authorities', but, that doesn't in any way indicate that WE CHRISTIANS are supposed to involve ourselves in their selection or election. Being subject to their 'authority' and helping to elect them are two different things.

Joseph in the OT held an office... He was "appointed" to the Top Post in Egypt. (Gen. 45:9). "God did send me before you to preserve life" (v.5).
Daniel, he too was appointed by a king to a Presidential position over the Kingdom. (Dan. 6:2)
As for helping to Elect them.... I would ask you, how do you think, based on the society that we live in today, the form and management of Government that Kings are no longer "appointed" but, now voted for by the people..... if Christians are NOT to hold office nor are they to vote, how do you think Countries can be changed from the inside out?
Keeping in mind that we are SUBJECT TO THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES and that the system of Voting belongs TO that authority.... and you are of the opinion it is wrong, can you prove or sway my opinion with the Bible that it is wrong?
How else does a Man of God get into office?
I can tell you one of the BIGGEST reasons that Bush was voted in for a second term was due to the Churches pushing their people TO get out and vote, they didn't actually TELL them who to vote for though.

I'm gonna pry open yet another Can O Worms... First: I believe that a Child of God would not BE running in a race for office to start with. I find no Biblical evidence of that ever happening.. And, Second: as far as being "Born Again", there isn't anyone who could fill that bill in this life anyway! Born Again is something that is yet future! Oh yes, I know there is CONVERSION, and being raised up out of the Baptismal waters to live a 'new life', but THAT is NOT being "Born Again"!

LOL! K, Phil, we are definitely on different pages here
We have to keep in mind, the times ARE different then they were say..... 5,000 years ago when we had Kings and Pharoahs to run things and in that era, people were APPOINTED to offices, such as Daniel and Joseph just to mention two.
We still have a governing body that was established by God, just has a bit different face to it then in those days. The KING would pick people for offices, today, the people pick the people for offices.
The Born again issue, well that is a MUCH bigger issue....
Either God DID do this, here and now through Jesus, or we are still waiting for this promise to take place and Jesus was deceived in what He stated to Nicodemus....
Ezekiel 36:25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
Jesus sure seem to think it was in the HERE and NOW to take place, cause He states it has to happen HERE to enter THERE. We can see this in Nicodemus' question, HE was old and wanted to know how this could be, even at his age. Now, if it were still something afar off, Jesus would have stated such, I believe.
Jesus stated, water and spirit were needed to be born again, the evidence is in the condition of the heart, it changes from Stone to Flesh.... we can see it from the ISSUES of the heart, the transformation according to God's word.
