That is an interesting question. I tend to agree with you in part. Mankind is immortal in a sense that man has a spirit and soul that will live on. But man lost the kind of relationship with the Lord they had when he chose to disobey God, and partake of the tree He told him not to partake of, instead of sticking to the other trees, plus partaking of the Tree of Life instead. Then is when mankinds relationship begins to take the immortality of everlasting life anyway.
And this is still true today too, if we consider what Jesus said in John chapter 6 about partaking of his flesh and blood spiritually of course, which is an example of our beginning to partake of that Tree of Life. Meaning we eat of the Word of God, which consists today of His flesh and blood spiritually. And by receiving it into our hearts and lives as truth, we begin to partake of everlasting life as well. And those that do not accept it do not receive this.
But I would say, in light of that, God made man from the beginning having a choice to either accept or obey the Lord from beginning to end. I know some do not like that choice of words. But it is biblical, none the less.
I really believe the Lord put in my heart mankind lost as a result of disobedience, and will regain what was lost by their obedience. Make sense?
luv ya in Christ,
Sandy
