<STRONG>The Ten Commandments, often called the Decalogue, <EM>was the LAW of the Creator God</EM>. The 'law of Hamurabi' was a Babylonian law written by a man. They are not the same thing.They never were!</STRONG></P>
<STRONG>God did not look around at what men wrote, and pick out ten laws that He thought would suffice to be applied to the Israelites, -He did not consult the laws of men in order to pick out ten laws that He would insist that they acknowledge as 'His Law".. Why would anyone assume such a thing?
God doesn't need men to come up with laws... That is the problem, men refuse to keep God's laws and want to write their own. </STRONG></P>
<STRONG>So please, don't let anyone tell you that the Ten Commandments were just a "common basic set of laws"... they are GOD'S LAW! They have been in force since the very beginning and the breaking of them is SIN. The penalty of which is d.e.a.t.h. !</STRONG></P>
