Like many other topics I bring up on Phil's Place, this topic DID NOT
PROGRESS as I had intended... I appreciate the responses, but I think
those who replied, just didn't "get the point" of what I was saying,
soooo.... as it often does, the discussion, veered off on other things...
Okay, let me clarify what I was talking about...
DUST! That's what you and I are... dust! and the 'dust' that is all
around us and filling the air, settling on our furniture and on our
Bibles...... well, that is ....dust that USED TO BE PEOPLE...
it's all around us, settling on our food, and in our drinks, and being
BREATHED IN AND OUT, again and again... every hour of every day and night!
Dust that was once a living person with hopes and dreams and
perhaps a family... a family who are now, probably, also 'dust in the
Everything we are, and all the things WE hold dear are soooo... temporary!
I just thought the question: "IS THERE DUST ON YOUR BIBLE?", was a great
way to stop and ponder those things a little...
Sooo... think about it!!... someday, when YOU
are settling on someone's
furniture, food, or, on their Bible
... I wonder if anyone will think
about you and yours, maybe wonder what you looked like, who your favorite
baseball team was, where you lived... and where you died.....
Oh well!.... Let's SING IT!!!
I close my eyes
Only for a moment and the moment's gone
All my dreams Pass before my eyes with curiosity
Dust in the wind All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do Crumbles to the ground,
..though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Now don't hang on
Nothin' last forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind... All we are is dust in the wind...Phil Barnes
".the Bible contains the direction and counsel that we need. (Isaiah 48:17, 18) Read it daily, meditate on what you read, and apply it. It will keep your mind clear and focused on things that are pure and wholesome. (Philippians 4:8, 9) You will learn not only how to live and enjoy life but also how to love the Creator of life." -Gerard
