Suicide - The unpardonable sin?

I hear that if a person kills themselves, then they are lost. I'm told that suicide is the 'un-pardonable sin'.
Why? Well, because... how can they repent of that sin?

Some tell me that, and others tell me that Jesus died once for all sins.
Both past and future. That, of course, might lead one to think that the sin of suicide was already forgiven. But, if that's true, then who has to worry about anything???

But, there is still that pesky word, 'repentance'... how does a dead person repent?
How do they approach the Throne of God to say, "I'm sorry"?

In my bible, I see that Christ is to be our 'advocate'... that His death was to cover our past sins. And, to make a way for us to repent of future sins, by seeking God's forgiveness. But, if one kills themselves...what then? Are we already forgiven or is that the sin that can't be forgiven?

Re: Suicide - The unpardonable sin?

I cannot say all people that commit suicide are automatically going to hell. But I cannot say they wouldn't either. But I certainly am not going to commit suicide to find out.

But I can say what the Bible tells me concerning repentance in relation to sin concerning believers, according to 1st John 1:
7. But if we salk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I believe those scriptures are written to believers that already are walking in the light, yet are also aware that they can be tempted to sin yet by their own lust of flesh. But even though tempted, if they confess their sins to the Lord, He will forgive them. but not only forgive them, but also cleanse them from all unrighteousness too, as they continue to grow in Him staying in that light. Because it is that light that reveals all fleshly lusts. And it is also that light that cleanses them of that lust as well.

No place that I know of does it ever say that beginning repentance means you are forgiven of all past sins as well as future ones though. But if someone does know of such, please tell me where it is.

luv ya,
Sandy

I will share where Christ Jesus was is victorious in all

matters even death the last enemy is defeated. From there make your own judgments if you dare.....But Christ Jesus is the final answer...and his judgments are true while mens are fualty even to the translating of his truths with the fleshy(carnal, dead) mind.

"Now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Yet each one in his own classification: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, then the final classification, when Christ delivers up the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For Christ must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For God has put all things in subjection under the feet of Christ. But when the Father says, 'All things are put in subjection,' it is evident that the Father is excluded who put all things in subjection to Christ. When all things become subjected to the Father, the Son Himself will also become subject to this One who subjected all things to Him. This is so that God the Father may be the ALL IN ALL." (1 Corinthians 15:20-28).

Now when I say carnal or dead mind...you might say...oh but I'm a born again spirit filled Christian.Yes this truly is the way to life....but once one choses to follow vain relgion raither than the one who first called you....Christ.....you have chosen death and have yet to experance the life of Christ in fullness....so though having a promise are yet experanceing the reality of Life. This holds true to all mankind and if one thinks the grave is the finish work.....they know not the Heavenly Father....whom no matter where one makes their bed...well find Him there. The Psalmist David was aware of that....so should you be.

Psa 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

and if you don't understand this....you should turn from your dead relgious ways and seek the Holy one of Israel...that your hope might be sustained in Him who has called you.

Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Lets say Amen and Amen and believe the one risen from the dead...that he truly can bring This, as truth, is so that God the Father may be the ALL IN ALL.1 Corth.15:28

Re. Suicide

April 5 2006, 1:39 PM

I feel that there is no unpardonable sin. If you think of it, people commit suicide everyday. They overeat, eat the wrong things, smoke, drink and have terrible health habits.

Someone overweight, loaded up with cholestral dies of a heart attack. We do not condemn them, but have pity on them and their families, but if you come right down to it, they committed suicide.

To condemn someone who is a victim of suicide can be very hurtful to those left behind. If someone gets to the pint where they cannot bear the pain anymore, I do not think we should condemn them.

What we need is the resources to help these people by lessening their pain, or increasing their ability to cope with the pain.

On the unpardonable sin (Matt. 12:31,32)

April 8 2006, 1:54 PM

Jesus speaks of in particular, one sin that will NEVER be forgiven.

Matt 12:31-32
31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. (NIV)

Of course it is true there is another sin Biblically that will never be forgiven and that is UNBELIEF in God His way. All of us at one time are within a state of unbelief OR in a state of belief within the mind but not in actuality. IOW we may THINK we believe BUT that belief is determined by us instead of God. Remember it is said that even the devil believes.

John 3:18
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (NIV)

If you look at the context of these verses (starting at Matt 12:22) we can see that just previously Jesus had brought healing a bind and mute man. This healing is clearly the work of God BUT the Pharisees completely and wilfully rejected the idea that the Holy Spirit had anything to do with it and instead attested the healing to Beelzebub the prince of demons. This is done today by people who have seen and know the truth BUT wilfully reject it because of hardening the heart. This is WILFUL UNBELIEF.
