Prophecy of The Fire

There is a prophecy of a fire that will destroy the wicked.

Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Some feel that this fire will do it's work on the day Christ returns...

Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

...some feel that it will not happen until years... maybe even a thousand years, later.

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Can we nail it down, once and for all? Can we KNOW when this cleansing FIRE will come and do away with the evil in this world?
Can we be sure?

see the wicked doesn't speak of a man or men but of a spirit that dwells within all of adams kin.We all have to pass threw the fires of GOd...each in their own order....but a sure thing is those fires are a refiners fire and shall remove the hay stubble wood...which are repersent the ways of the flesh of men.

People experience this all the time-the lake of fire that purifies. Paul, the apostle, when he was knocked off that horse went through a lake of fire.

The Spirit of God and the Word of God purify us. Being purified is not always pleasant to the flesh and it can seem a lake of fire. Chastisment though is a sign of God's love.
