Horsewoman Seeking Arab for lease in Vancouver
by
Experienced Horse Woman Available
I am a responsible, competent horse person seeking a lease or partial lease in Southlands. I began riding here years ago with Wendy Elliot. I have had several horses and rode at the Maple Ridge Equisport Centre where I trained with Nancy Olsen. I have also taken lessons with Lynn Denton and worked with her horses on Salt Spring island. I have trained and show my own horses as well as showing horses for other people. Currently, I am training horses for Diane Marsh in Campbell Valley. I am a doctoral student at UBC and am seeking a half-time arrangement. I am experienced, friendly and capable. If you are seeking someone to care for, groom, lunge, condition and/or show your horse, please do not hesitate to call.
I have a 19 year old mare. I have been doing research on background. I found out that she is straight Davenport up to her grand parents. I am looking for information on a mare Decibel and a mare Star Impashioned. I am trying to find out if these two mares were Davenport breed. If you can help that would be great
Star Impashioned sounds to me like Star West breeding, but don't quote me on it.
Alice Martin out of Star West, in New Berlin, IL specialises in breeding for the dressage rider. She has blended Davenport with other Arabian lines to come up with some very nice horses. If you'd like to contact her, go to: http://www.starwestonline.net/
I need to reduce the number of horses here and have decided to part with a few that I had originally planned to keep. They are all part of my Kuhaylan Krush breeding program and are outstanding individuals. All should excel in any discipline they're asked to do. Their prices have been reduced and I will take terms or offer cash discounts. I will also sell the stallion with one or more of the mares at a package discount. If you have any questions or would like to see pictures of any of them please feel free to contact me.
HH Theseus Krush (Perseus KF x Januba Al Krush) 2000 grey stallion. He is a favorite of visitors and very pretty with a sweet, sensitive temperment. Bred 2nd gen. in the strain. Only selling as I now have a weanling full brother.
HH Noura Krush (Bayou CF x Topaz LD) 1997 chestnut mare. She is broke to ride and easy to work with. She had a lovely chestnut filly last year by Quantum LD. She is 1st gen. in the strain. Could also be bred to one of my stallions.
-- I really only want to sell one of the following fillies - buyers choice and I will retain the other one unless just the right buyer and situation comes along.
HH Aurora Krush (Perseus KF x HH Haley Krush) 2001 bay mare. Very dark bay, 2nd gen. in the strain. Really built for dressage or competition then would be an excellent broodmare.
HH Olivia Krush (Quantum LD x Naufali Al Krush) 2003 bay filly. Very pretty and maturing nicely. Also of the Krush strain.
There has been a chat room added to the board - this can be used for people to prearrange a time to meet here and chat about their horses, or other topics related to the Davenprt Arabian.
1988 Bay, very stoutly built. 1st and 2nd Heavyweight Horse on the only two NATRC rides entered. Sire: Cerulean CF (Ibn Alamein/Cerealia). Dam: Rushcreek Faith, old A.W. Harris breeding, NATRC National Champion. Sound, healthy with many miles left. Would prefer CTR home. Email for more info. & picts.
I have a beautiful former race horse name STAR STUDDED JEWELs for sale sire RD FIVE STAR dam Toyko rose... She has had training after the track for trails.....How much are you looking to pay? For more info contact me Jeanette
DJS Zahar (Ahmed Fabah x Miss Marian) is a 14 year old Davenport Arabian gelding. Bloodlines include founding sires of the Davenport line (Tripoli, Monsoon..) Beautiful 15.1 hh chestnut with blaze. Goes English or Western. Very sweet and personable, but needs an experienced rider. He is a very sweet boy and deserves a great home! Pictures can be found at these following links:

I have more pictures available of him if you are interested! Feel free to email me anytime!
Asking $2500 OBO (All reasonable offers considered!!) To a GOOD HOME ONLY!!
If you are interested, you can email me at LegendHRider@aol.com for more information or pictures!!
what a lovely boy! looks like he moves pretty well under saddle for you as well.
Miss Fancy Free is straight Davenport mare, and Ahmed Fabah is a lovely straight Babson stallion. This is a wonderful cross, and it looks like he is living up to the potential of his lines.
I see the barrels in the background of the photos - does he jump as well?
He does move beautifully under saddle! Thanks for the compliments on him! Always nice to hear someone brag about your horse! He is a very sweet boy. I love him to death. I had started him jumping a while ago, and he seemed to like it. He hasnt done it in quite a while though, but I am sure he would still remember. He wasnt jumped very high, we had just started him on some little jumps. He enjoyed it though. He is still for sale for $2500. I am getting into speed events and I'm afraid my little Davenport Arab just wont cut it. I dont think he would like it either! If anyone is still interested, feel free to email me! LegendHRider@aol.com Thanks!

from "The Horse Lover" Apr/May '51
After showing this speed at Overton Downs, Mr. Dickinson decided to try him for a record, which was arranged by courtesy of the late John Early, southwestern governor of the national Trotting Association, and after public advertisement and on fixed days, regardless of weather, Antez made official records at fourth, half and three-quarter mile and the short European race distance of 1200 meters. He equalled the known Arabian records for the quarter and half mile, 14 1/2 and 51 seconds (though there is a tradition that a horse travelled the quarter one-half second faster over ninety years ago); equalled an eighty-year-old Arabian record for the half mile, and ran the quarter, half and six furlongs faster than any American-bred Arab on record. Quite a performance for a twelve-year-old stallion that had never been run until his twelfth year!
*****
It has been my expirence that the Arabians usualy love a challenge. My own mare Dori was untrained for riding until the age of 14. She now attempts to lead the pack at every trail ride, and goes unhesitatingly over under and through ever natural obstical. Unless of course it is above her knee height - but I really wonder how much of that has to do with her rider prefering not to jump much at all.
I really think you should give him a chance to see if he would like to do the events. I know that SA Apogee is successful at open breed reigning shows and preforms in dressage as well.
Well, I would love to give him a shot at barrels, but I just dont think he has the speed I am looking for. He is somewhat fast, but I dont think he is quite fast enough for barrels. He would make someone a much better dressage, or english pleasure, or jumping prospect than a speed event horse. Thanks so much for all the info though! It was really interesting.
RnR Master of Dreams( Pal-Ara Sensation x Serinda CF) "Dreamer" is a very well put together young man, sporting a vibrant chestnut coat with a flaxen mane and tail.. He is a very personable young man looking for that special someone. We got him as part trade and are hoping to find him a loving home. He needs work, but I belive in the right hand he has great potential. He is currently 14.1 hands, he bathes, clips, hauls and has had his feet trimmed. He is current on shots and worming. 650.00

Hi Stacy, have you sold your photo album of Homer Davenport yet?? If not I may be interested. Do you have an email that I can email you at? Thanks Michelle
hi i have a chestnut full bred arab mare which i show at local shows and she mostly comes home with a ribbon she has just turned 9 but still got her whole life infront of her and is willing to learn she is regestered with the arab society she has good stable manners i am 14 myself and she was perfect for me i just want something bigger more of a challenge but she is not a novice ride i am in lancshire-blackpool
First find a riding instructor. Then find a horse that suits you (is safe for you, not too big, well trained, preferably a gelding). Work only with this horse consistently so that he earns your trust and you earn his. Do everything....ride, groom, bathe, pick hooves. Spend lots of time with him. Learn how to read his body language; it speaks volumes. You will know when he is scared, relaxed, happy, ill, tired, or cranky. The time you spend on the ground with a horse will probably teach you more than the time you spend in the saddle.
I was just like you at 12. My mom couldn't afford a horse so I rode at a riding school for 4 years. Rode a lot of different horses, learned how to handle bucking, rearing....got kicked or stepped on a couple of times, etc. Sure it was scary, but I learned how to stay on, how not to get kicked, and how to keep my feet out of the way.
Until I had my own horse at age 37, I had no idea how special the bond of friendship can be with just one (when you're not riding a different horse every week). You'll gain confidence experimenting with horses other than your own. Then when you are ready to get one for yourself, you'll be amazed at how great it is to trust a horse completely.
But DON'T give up! I'm 41 now and horses have been the one constant interest I've had since age 3. Nothing has been more rewarding or inspiring.
I live near Elkhart, Ind. Have 2 geldings and one mare, all Davenport Arabs. Want to start a breeding program with the mare, but saw your ad for an 8 year old grey mare. Please send pedigree and photo. Any bad habits, please specify. thanks
I just saw you message! can you tell me the names of your horses, and maybe sire and dam? There are so few Davenports that I love to try to keep track of who is out there!
I only have a pedigree on the mare, and she is the only one that is registered. The geldings are her half brothers. She is actually only half Davenport, her grandsire was Trian, out of Tripoli and Ehwat-Ansarlah. The pedigree goes all the way back to Gomusa, Hadba, Jedah, Muson, Urfah, etc. I would like to breed her to a Davenport stallion. I talked to Charles Craver by phone yesterday and he's sending me some info; his farm is only about 4 hours from me. Thanks for your interest. Her dam's side is all Raffles, crossed six times. She looks just like all of the Craver Davenports, chestnut,14.2 hands, white blaze, four white feet, beautiful head. She's registered as Hartz's Sunshine. I raised her as a foal, owned her mother, Dream Acres Amber, and now have her back at my place, 17 years later. Want to get her bred before its too late.
We have no Stallions,
Just the 3 fillys and 1, 8yo mare.
They really all need homes if you know someone that
May be interested.
Thank you.
Please email me at home. Its easier.

Folks, this book is wonderful, there are many articles that haven't seen the light of day for decades, as well as photos that have never been published before. The photos alone make it well worth the puurchhase price!
Hello - is anyone keeping track of the Davenport influence in Arabian racing today? Some horses, such as Kezoram, have Davenport lines fairly close up, and I'd also love to know if anyone has sent a straight Davenport to the track. Which lines have been most successful for racing stock? Thanks - any help would be appreciated.
One of the stallions I own was trained for racing years ago along with several other horses owned by the same people. I also know someone that is currently interested in getting more Davenports into racing. They may know of others that have been raced. If you'd like any further information feel free to contact me privately.
Hi Kim,
Yes, I'm very interested to find out more about your stallion and any other racing Davenports, or people who are interested in racing them. I believe that the Blunt and Davenport lines are the strength of today's successful racehorses with CMK pedigrees. Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks,
Can anyone help me? I was told that my stallion is Davenport. I'm not that well educated about the Davenport Arabians. Please if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I had a friend look up your stallion on the datasource - and unfortunately he is not Davenport within 5 generations. He has some really neat Eqyptian and American breeding in him though.
Since being on the internet I have searched from time to time for info about my first childhood horse, a grey/white Arabian gelding who lived to be over 40. We rescued him from a riding stable in the early 1950s when he was at least in his mid twenties, and he was known to many old time horsemen and my uncle in our northern NY State county as having been owned by a local wealthy businessman and well known horseman for most of his life until being sold to the riding stable upon the owner's death. He was originally bought as a young horse by the business man at a sale of starving Arabians in Indiana in the early 1930s, as the Indiana farm had gone broke and the owner went to prison. We always called our horse "Sammy", as that was his name, according to the old timers. I am now wondering if that was a corruption of his real Arabian name. Now that I found the history of the Davenports and the misfortunes of the farm in Indiana owned by Morton S. Hawkins, I am wondering if that is the farm where our horse came from and what his real name and breeding were. I would appreciate any info anyone can give me. We do not know if he was even registered, but the coincidences of his history seem to point to that he came from Morton S. Hawkin's herd of Davenport breeding. I see that some of the Hawkins rescued stock also went to Hearst in Calif., and some of our Morgans trace to the Hearst stock.
Thank you.

Oh my, that was quite a story, I wish you luck.
I bet he was. I don't know how you would ever
find out. But I bet he was one of those lost
pedigree arabians. I think it is wonderful
you even think of him still.
This is a great tool if you do not have to time to advertise your horse for sale, or even if you don’t know how to go about doing so. Also, I can help you find the horse of your dreams. If you are looking to buy a horse you can let me know exactly what you are looking for. The cost of this varies, for show horses about $100.00, pleasure horses-$75.00, and companion horses-$40.00.I will then set out to find the horse for you. When one is found and the seller and yourself have both agreed on the sale you the buyer then can send the money to the seller, and pick up your NEW HORSE! If you are interested in selling a horse with me there is a 15% commission upon the horse’s sale, but if not sold, you don’t pay a dime! I advertise your horse’s sale through hundreds of other horses for sale sites and post ads so people may view your horse, through newspaper ads, through advertisements posted in Tack shops and riding stables, as well as through word of mouth. When a buyer is found and you both agree on the sale of your horse, the buyer then sends me half of the selling price, I then take my 15% commission and send the rest on to you. The buyer may then pick up the horse that has been sold and pay you the rest of the sold price. This is for serious inquires only! If you are not serious about buying or selling a horse then please do not waste other peoples time. If you are under 18 years of age, then you MUST have perental permision to find a horse to buy. I may give you a deal or make a trade if you want me to find you a horse but dont have the money. I may also consider a trade for my services of helping you sell your horse. Thank you.
Hello,
I have an incrediable Pure Davenport Stallion that I am wanting to sell to perferably an Arabian Show home. He would be considered a stallion Pony because he is 13-3 hands. I am asking 10k for him. He is broke to drive & has begone under saddle work! He has movement, presence & ability, with the conformation to match. He would benefit greatly any mare in which he was bred to! My health issues have hindered his showing & he needs to progress. If you think you can help with his sale please mail me back for more information. Thank you, Louise
Hello. I am looking for Abayyan strain Arabians and was hoping someone could help me locate some. I am pleased to see that there are possibly some in the Davenport lineage. Does anyone have Abayyan strain?
If so, please email me so that we can talk about them.
A friend of mine has an eight-year-old gray Al Khamsa Abayyan Al Hurmah mare for sale (definitely not Davenport). If interested, she could send photos.
HALUJJ a 1992 stallion by Diomede (Prince Hal x Decibel)) out of Hi Sandra (CL Hi Ned x Anlanah)
We reluctantly offer this straight Davenport stallion for sale. He's a flashy bright chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, blaze and four stockings.
Photos are online at http://showcase.netins.net/web/skai/halujj.html
We'd like to place him in a good preservation home where he'll be used and appreciated. Priced very reasonable to the right home.
You can contact us for more info at skai@netins.net.
My charming grey 19yr Davenport mare is for sale. Kuhaylan line. Green broke, reasonably priced. We are in Oregon. She's had four 3 circle babies and she wants to have more, I just haven't let her! Due to time and energy constraints I would consider letting her go to a loving home.
Thanks,
Tanya
Your message is fairly old, so don't know if you found a home for your mare or not. I'm looking for a mare to ride and breed. I'm in Northern California. Let me know if you still have her and what you are asking for her if so.
I purchased a 9 yr old Dapple Grey Arabian w/no papers in Stanwood,WA last year. At a clinic over this lastweekend, one of the trainers stated that Shadow was definately out of the El Khala bloodine. Polish looking, but 15.2 and very arabian looking!
I would love to know of his possible background He would have been born dark grey in May 1993 somewhere here in the NW area. Can anyone help? I can send a picture.
Laaura
there is really know way of knowing for sure unless we have the sire and dam of a horse, or at least their registered name.
you are welcome to go to my site http://www.davenporthorses.com and see photos of other Davenport horses. Feel free to follow all the links from my sites, the vast majority lead to other davenport owners as well as info about the Davenports.
This bloodline has purposely been kept very diverse in looks and with as much in pedigree as was and is possible, so there really isn't one distinctive look for us to be able to look at a horse and say YES THEY ARE!
We have Davenports that hit an honest 15hh + and we have horses that are lucky to hit 14hh.
I have a preservation framed, original copy of the 1906 New York TImes full page story of Homer Davenport's Expedition into the Arabian Desert complete with his own sketches of Akmet Hafiz and four
photographs of horses and bedouins as well as Davenport himself. This is a huge framed piece approx. 1 1/2 feet wide by 2 feet long. Matted and preservation framed under glass and sealed.
I am interested in selling this piece to someone like myself who owns and or appreciates the Davenport Arabian for what they are...the most wonderful horses in the world. You may contact me privately at sweau@msn.com for further information if interested.
I am looking for a lady I used to work for and ride
her wonderful arabian horses they were Davenports
and Egyptian her name was Carol Waller and she lived
in Oakland oregon. I rode Anchorage (davenport stallion) and a couple other horses for her and helped
around her farm.
My maiden name was harting.
Carol I would love to hear from you and talk horses
again.
I think you are referring to Jean Waller who lived in Oakland and owned Anchorage for a few years.
We (Husband Jim & I ) had the previledge of owning Anchorage before we sold him to Jean. A young friend of ours trained and showed Anchorage in dressage thtough 3rd level & he wasIAHA Top Ten in 1st & 2nd levels. He was such a great horse to ride and to know.
We moved to Oregon after Jean had sold Anchorage to a dressage trainer and her partner up in Washington. He had a great life there and was much loved.

Hello. I am interested in breeding my (multi line 6+)
Serifix great grand-daughter and a Barnaby++ daughter.
This will be our family's first foaling experience.
Hoping for a dressage prospect!
Thank you.
HH Noura Krush (Bayou CF x Topaz LD) is available to someone looking for a lovely mare for riding and/or breeding. She produced a wonderful filly for me this year that I am retaining. Noura is a 6 year old chestnut mare with ground covering, free movement, good solid conformation and a pretty head. She is broke to ride. She is by the Brimstone son Bayou CF and out of a Sportin Life daughter and is of the Kuhaylan Kurush strain.
For more information please contact me: Kim Davis - kdavis@jvlnet.com
could you tell me more about her? What is her personality like, stall manners, does she stand still to be mounted?? Hunt or western? What level rider?
Where is she located.
My name is Jay Wilson. I live in Las Vegas, NV. and I am looking for another mare to add to my farm. I have two davenport stallions, one mare, and two half davenport geldings. I am interested in your chestnut and bay philly's and if you still have them could you forward some photos with some stats to include price.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

We are in a situation that we are willing to lease Tari to a good home into preserving the Davenports. We know nothing about it, but need to find him a home before he is is gelded or goes to auction.
Dave and Katie Burns have abandoned 18 half starved Arabian horses. Among them is the 1999 Chestnut straight Davenport stallion, Gandalf (Bon Jour CF x Dekadas LF). This colt and 15 others are destined for the auction if not rescued. They are being cared for at La Cheval Ranch, near Colorado Springs, CO. The person to contact at the ranch is Debbie. The phone number is 719-382-7908. Debbie's email is deborahalynne@aol.com. You can also try Tammy (the ranch owner's daughter) at 719-683-3594.
Hi, once I posted my message I recieved an updated page with 2003 responses...glad it is still up and going. Can anyone tell me what percentage Davenport my gelding Takara (full name) would be...thanks for your help. Michelle
I was wondering if this board is stll active..the last date I saw on my computer was 2001. I have a Davenport cross that just turned 32 years. He is wonderful and a joy to own. He is still coming up with was to keep me thinking....He is the love of my life...his name is TAKARA out of Raffolanna by Bagdad. He has made me love the Karush lines...Michelle
I thought you might enjoy visiting my website. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/6821
It's quite outdated, but most of my Davenports are of the Kurush strain, most with multiple crosses to *Werdi. So wonderful that you've had your boy to bring joy to your life for so long. Hope he's with you for a long time to come.

I am in urgent need of a couple of good quality photos of relatively recent 100% Davenport Arabians for an article for an Australian magazine. Can anyone help? Please email me on: alexia.ross@virgin.net Thanks
you are welcome to use photos of horses that are listed as specifically belonging to those two farms.
I will be sending an e-mail out to the Davenport Source - the yahoo group that has many Davenport owners, and letting them know that you are requesting more photos.

hello: I am responding to your advertisment a arabian davenport for sale. Do you still have the horse for sale? Please send me the details and price. Thanks Cwimsett (pictures)
Hi all,
Just found your group and was interested. I have a black mare and stallion who tail female to Wadduda (given to Henry Davenport by a Shiek) and plan to do preservation breeding of the line, focusing on black. My first foal from the pair is due in May. My stallion, Lightning's Shadow, tails to Wadduda on top and bottom of his pedigree about as close as you can get. He's a beautiful, sweet-natured young fellow, built like the old desert horses. He is Al Khamsa and Asil. Lacey, my mare, is a mixture of old and new lines, and is related to the TV series' Black Stallion. She is also built rounded, muscular and compact. Anyone with any words of wisdom, I'd appreciate it.

Saw your add and thought you might be interested or know someone looking to breed this bloodline who might be interested in a mare I have for sale...I just need to downsize this spring...
BLACK EGYPTIAN tail-female *WADDUDA for sale
Lightnings Aangel (Black Lightning x Sahanadah) 5 year old Egyptian (related) mare with blaze, 2 socks, whose parents are both black. She is Al Khamsa/Asil/Blue List (eligible). She is a G-granddaughter to SAHANAD (who has 5 crosses to the famous war mare *WADDUDA a Saqlawi Al-Abd). She has a very sweet disposition, excellent ground manners, strongly built with good bone and a beautiful head. Started under saddle and has had 60 days professional training. Loads, clips, bathes, stands cross-tied, etc. Very smart and willing mare with the smoothest ride ever. Great western pleasure, trail, endurance prospect or possible broodmare to any black or preservation breeding program. Asking $3,800
I don't come to the message board very often and just saw your response to my post. It's really interesting -- my stallion is sired by your mare's sire, but my stallion's dam is Sahanade, a chestnut. I'd have to see just how close the breeding is, but I'd love to know more about your mare if you still have her. Do you have pictures you can email? How tall is she; how is she built; neck, head, etc.
Thanks,
Phyllis
Anyways, I was analyzing my mare's pedigree and found her tail female line ended up with a Davenport-imported mare named WERDI, who was bred to Hamrah, and produced TAMARINSK...this goes on and on to the point of I'd like to know anything involving that female line lol. From what I can see her maternal line is composed to mainly Davenport bred horses when you get to a certain point in her pedigree...but I am not certain. Could someone check this out @ http://www.dmtc.com/pedigree/allbreed/ (type in Skye Angel(1997 Bay Arabian Mare)) and help me out!

I was excited to see your question. My gelding Takara is by RAffolanna who is a full sister to Bint Raffmal your mares great-great grandmother. He is a wonderful animal. He has been with me 27 years. In his younger days he was Region 11 Top 5 Park Horse and has always been a wonderful friend. He has always become a favorite at each barn he has lived at due to his wonderful, polite, neat, charming, curious and intelligent personality. He is currently at a warm blood barn and they are all amazed by his intelligence and personality and beautiful movement even in his later years. He is in wonderful health as well. You are very fortunate to have a mare form this femail line. I would love to see a picture. I am also intersted in the answer to your question..I am just discovering the wonderful history of the davenport lines.
Well that is exciting news!!!! From Eva Dano, I learned that Skye's dam line is a *Werdi dam line/Kuhaylah Kurush Lined mare, which to me is exciting b/c I never knew the strain! I did send you a picture from her Show season (she wasn't clipped, by hey, she looks fine), and a picture of her first foal, who is a Region 18 qualifier
Both of you might be interested in joining the Arabian Preservation mailing list at yahoo. They are mostly CMK oriented, and right now are having a fun discussion of long-lived Arabians. Just send a blank email to the following email address:
ArabianPreservation-subscribe@egroups.com
and if you are enjoying finding out about the bloodlines and families behind the Arabian horses (mostly U.S.), Eva Dano has a very interesting list and she will run your horse thru her bloodline program on request:
I joined the group recently and received Skye's percentages the other way. It is hard to find some of hte older documents, but I have found more on her dam strain
Just thought the group would like an update on how the Michigan Davenports are doing in endurance riding. Jeanie Miller's horse Rubato CF finished his first ride in September at the WHite River Ride in Hesperia Michigan. He's going to be a contender. You can see his photo on my web page going up the hill.
www.arabiansites.com/equinephoto/justus.htm
Crucian, Shelley Dake's Davenport gelding is currently 8th in the Midwest Region for AERC (our National organization). He's finished 17 rides this year, never been pulled) and is just really coming into his own. He's a jewel and such a sweet boy! I believe his total mileage is just under 2000 miles in three years.
Not bad for those of us stuck in the snow most of the winter!
My mare, Artemisia is still doing rides and will be out again in 2003. Prelude CF is currently on loan to a friend in Arizona and is doing great. Just finished Silver State ride on Friday after Thanksgiving.
These horses are awesome endurance horses. I'd sure like to see more Davenports out there! Breeders?????
Any prospects you'd like to see on trail????? Crucian and Rubato are on trail because their owners saw other Davenports on trail and were so impressed with them.
My contention, as always, is that these horses deserve to be used! They're so much FUN to ride!
I sold a Davenport mare to a distance rider this past spring.
I probably wouldn't have sold her to anyone else, but I've seen and judged Joan at different rides for years.
I had a half-Davenport mare for sale, and Joan insisted that she wasn't going home with only one horse in the trailer...
I'm looking very much forward to seeing how well 'Rocious (Queen of Argyll) does in her career.
Joan also competes an Anglo-Arab gelding who was sired by a Davenport.
A Davenport mare (bred & owned by us) is now with a friend who does endurance riding. Kashmir Krush LD's first ride wont be til spring. Comments are similar... great attitude & fantastic pulses.
IAHA Championship Endurance Ride Date Change
The IAHA Championship Endurance Ride is being moved back by two weeks in order to avoid the AERC Championships. New dates are Thursday, October 23, 2003, for the 100-mile Championship and Saturday, October 25, 2003 for the 50-mile Championship (pending Board approval). The ride will still be held in Clark State Forest, Henryville, Indiana.
Yes, we are planning on attending and competing in the 50 mile IAHA Championship Endurance Ride. The ride is held south of us about 5 hours. This is a tough trail and if it rains, is especially challenging.
What part of the country are you located in?
What type of riding are you interested in?

Our family was recently introduced to Davenport Arabs (we've had horses and Arabs for years) when my mom acquired 2 Davenport mares- which to her surprise were pregnant! Since we now have 4 instead of 2 (in addition to the 8 other horses at the farm) we are forced to reduce the herd.
We love the mares and the little boy (we have decided to keep the little girl- she should make a lovely dressage horse) but just don't have the time to do them justice. And since there are no local davenport studs to breed the mares to- so we regretfully decided that it would be best to give someone else the opportunity to have these wonderful mares. We are still learning about davenports and all their great attributes- (I look forward to working with the filly) but don't know much about their blood lines- hopefully someone will give these guys a good home.
thanks!

Straight Davenport yearling colt looking for new home
by
HH Elijah Krush is a very dark grey yearling colt that I would like to place in a new home. Sire: RC Janub Krush. Dam: Strawberry Kurush. He's bred 2nd generation in the Kuhaylan Krush strain. He's a very nicely built, handsome colt with a strong, outgoing personality. He would make a nice addition to someone's breeding program as well as a good "using" horse. He needs something to keep him busy and I just don't have the time to spend with him right now. Reasonably priced at $1,500 or negotiable with retained breedings. For photos or more information please contact Kim Davis - kdavis@jvlnet.com
