I buried you today...and with you...the broken pieces of a promise I failed to keep

She'd arrived in New York with Tea but had to slip off her own way for a bit to check in on her friend. She'd left her bags with Tea to take to the hotel room that they decided to share. She gave Tea a hug and a reassuring smile that said Rhy would be okay.
But she wasn't going to be.
She'd spent most of that day watching Sijourne sleep. Tears rolling down her cheeks at the patheticness of her friend. She was killing herself inside for ever leaving them to this fate. She'd promised...Goddamnit she promised to always look after them...and she'd failed.
::I'm so scared Rhyder...I fear that this life will kill us all.'
I won't let it kill you Schyler...I promise. I won't let you die out here."::
What a fool she had been to promise such...when now Schyler was now dead ready to be buried tomorrow with their other friend, Nicole. She hated herself right now for ever leaving and breaking her promise.
She left Sijourne's hospital room about 8 that evening and walked to keep another promise she made. Rhyder stopped in a hair place...she gave them instructions...and they carried them out perfectly.
Once she was done there she walked to a store she like and bought a new outfit for the funeral that would be held tomorrow.
With all that done she stopped by the gym that an old friend had...and of course stopped by to say hi to Evalynne.
Rhyder did get to the hotel until nearly after 3 am. She slipped into the room and spent the rest of the night until about 6 staring at the ceiling. At 6 she got up and took a shower trying not to disturb Tea. She then slipped out of the room after getting dressed. She walked around a little until about noon thats when she headed to the church for the funeral.
She was numb stone solid figure during the whole service...not a tear shed. She'd spent nearly forever crying over all this and not a tear was left. Nicole's mother gave her a hug...and Schyler's parents hugged her as well before they slipped out and drove to the graveyard. Rhyder was quiet the whole way there...she knew Nicole and Schyler's parents were watching her...worried about her. They also noted the changes from yesterday in Rhyder.
People put flowers on the coffin's before they were to be lowered into the ground. Rhyder walked up to Schyler's coffin and on it she placed her ponytail. Her long black hair...she'd cut it off to about her chin.
"Just like I promised you so long ago...if I were to break a promise I'd give to you my hair...the one vanity thing I prized. And its back to being black...I'm so sorry Schyler...I'm so sorry that I let you down."
Now the tears came again as she tried apologizing to her dead friend. She prayed Schyler forgave her of that broken promise. Schyler's parents helped Rhyder walk away from the graves.
After everything was over they took Rhyder back to the hotel. Tea wasn't there...probably went to eat and find her half sister. Rhyder curled up on her bed...she wanted to go spend time with Sij but everyone told her that it wasn't smart. She needed some time to herself...to grieve. Everyone knew Rhyder would probably work her heart out for her friends...and wouldn't give herself time to grieve...thats why they forced her to do such things...it was healthier..and she knew they were right.
Rhyder fell into a trouble slumber nearly three hours after lying there crying.
