The streets of San Diablo have never been considered safe. To this day, Meridian’s sister city is considered to have one of the highest crime rates and record-breaking police corruption. Even Detroit has nothing on the Devil’s City. Organized crime and primal gangs roam the streets of a city where justice is only in the eye of the beholder.
For years, a prominent crime family known as the Giovanni had a stranglehold on the Twin-City area, and their grip was felt even by members of the well-known street-racing organization called TRAX of Meridian. At the turn of the century, the streets of Meridian felt even smaller to the members of TRAX with an invasion from the east; an invasion of monster machines from San Diablo; an invasion of the Drag’nz.
Cyrus Bishop and the Drag’nz collapsed on Meridian and became a dominant street-racing force in the Twin City area. The Drag’nz soon became a familiar name in NIRA and NHRA circuits and shows all over California, Nevada and Arizona. Then, finally, the Giovanni made a mistake.
They fucked with a Bishop.
Over the course of the next year, Cyrus and two of his colleagues, Brian O’Leary and Gibson Redkygg systematically killed members of the Giovanni crime family one by one. They were victims of their success as a rival of the Giovanni, Nicolae Ramonov of Detroit looked to move his operations westward. Cyrus was thus employed by Nicolae and though the success of the Drag’nz grew, a dark cloud hung ominously over them throughout the years.
In 2006, Nicolae Ramonov was assassinated by one of his own. Owing much to the Don, Cyrus swore to find and kill Nicolae’s assassin. It was then he learned he was heir to the Ramonov Empire. Cyrus ran the business for years and through resources of his own and the family’s built himself an Empire.
Now, in the year 2023, the Drag’nz still dominate the streets of San Diablo and Meridian. But new threats rear their ugly heads and it’s not all fun and games for the new generation of Drag’nz. The Bishop Crime Family brings with it, it’s own challenges for the Drag’nz. From the Orient, the Triad is moving in to take over the West Coast and have established footholds no further north than Sacramento. A long time rival of the Bishop Crime Family, and an equally potential rival on the ¼ mile, the Infernos have awoken from apparent stasis, waiting to claim their own reputation on the streets. As has long since been the case, the rivalry between TRAX and the Drag’nz remains at an intense passive standoff, like a time bomb waiting to explode.

The Drag’nz is a street-racing roleplay, played out primarily in Triple Play and on the RP’s Message Boards. The time-frame in which it takes place can be considered the same as Future Meridian High School and Future Meridian State University. There will be bi-weekly message board races that will pit Drag’nz characters not only against each other, but also against members of the Inferno and TRAX. The challenges await.
