A REAL OLD SKOOL CHALLENGE

by

I have a 1981 (yes 1981) Honda Civic hatchback. It has had several thousand dollars spent on it and nearly everything is new, except, it keeps mysteriously blowing head gaskets. The previous owner put a head on the rebuild and in a few hundred miles it popped. Replaced the head again and in a few hundred miles it popped. I witnessed the work done by PO and believe they did it right, but it just keeps popping heads. This leads me to believe (since the car has recently fallen into my posession) that I would rather just find a running engine and swap the whole mess out. I KNOW MOST of you have old Hondas that are still much newer than this, this is a REAL OLD SKOOL CIVIC, and with all the new parts the rest of the car has been damn near restored, I hate to just get rid of it, I would rather make it run and keep it. My question, I want either, a source in the Seattle area (hopefully) for a running '81 or '82 Civic 1500cc engine - OR - advice from the forum here on what other engines would fit this car with NO (or childishly simple) MODS. Advice please, from those who know about the oldass Hondas I love Peace, -Mac seattlex19@yahoo.com
