Honda Civic HB with Engine Swap info

So lost!!!!

by Angel

I,ve got a 92' Civic Hatch SI, and my engine is dead. First off what Kind of engine was it (SOHC/DOHC),and what kind of engine can I swap it with(all possibilities please)? Does it have to say V-TEC on the cover for it to be V-TEC? Also, can I swap it with just any Honda 4 cylinder. Any help would be much appreciated THX.

Theres alot U can do

by

First of all are U sure the engine is completely dead? Make sure it is before you go spending cash without needing to; email me with the problem maybe I can help U out(dav_680@hotmail.com)I've seen alot of shops tell guys their engines are gone when their really not just to make cash. Okay if its a 1992Si hatch back than it was a 1.6SOHC Vtec engine which had about 125hp which is pretty good for its size. If you really wanna do a engine swap than you've just entered a world of many possibilities. You have your choice depending on your cash flow from a H22 which is a prelude engine; considering you get the engine and tranny yourself the swap will need a mount kit that is made for that swap (around 350) and a charge of labor which depends on who your working with. The H22 is 2.2liter with 195hp, its a bigger engine than all the rest of your possible swaps and there for has way more hp potential, another swap is the Type R which would drop right into your hatch but you would have to get a harness adaptor because the Type Rs are obd2 and your car is a obd1; but one way or the other unless you got alot of cash or extremely lucky you wont get that swap because its so famous; its a 1.8 C5 with 195hp and cost between $4000to$6000 legit. the other swap U can do is the GSR which is the most popular with your car. It comes with 180hp C1 but can get kinda expensive too unless you get one with no papers(nonlegit guys sell them from $1500-$2500 depending on who your dealing with) you might find some that are legit too for $2500; this is a great swap I've seen these setups really stomp on the streets; your next option is the LS engine in your case you would be looken for a 1994-95LS B18B it has 140hp and lots of potential like the others; these U can get cheap $1500 or less for complete with papers; this engines block and a Vtec head makes the famous LSVtec. My friend just got one put into his hatchback a few weeks ago and plans to go turbo; just make sure the engine U get is obd1 because that would be easier for you or if you get anything newer (obd2) you would have to get an adapter for the harness or change the harness($$$) on your engine. You can also go back to your old engine which I've seen go for as little as $300 with tranny, this is the 1.6sohc Vtec swap. oh yeah I almost forgot about the B16 which puts out 160hp, this is the big brother to your engine they usually go for a little bit less than a GSR. If I can help in any other way just let me know. Go to urbanracer.com and go into their classifieds and you should see some things you might be interested in. Good luck and be safe. 1!

by

for the VX it has the EGR valve and there is 1 vaccum lines going to this little black box and there is 2 vaccum line goes into that box , one goes to the canister and the other one goes to the intake mainifold vaccum , and there is 2 wires the connected to the box what do i do with that box and wires ,

and anothere question on the passenger side were the plugs hook up on the car its self has 4 plugs ,and on i think the last plugs is for the old VX motor for vtec and other stuff so i think i leave that alone i think, and for the LS motor there is only 3 plugs that can plug into the 3 plugs for the car and 1 plug is left out. what do i do ,evevrything else i got down

first off what the hell are you talking about? where are these plugs inside the car where the ECU hooks up or in the engine compartment.t do you know what they were hooked up to before you took them off the old engine? What I suggest you do is go and get the b18 wiring diagram and then your cars diagram. The b18 is vtec so it needs to be wired up to work and next question what model style of car is it coupe hatch sedan all are different

ZC motor for sale

by

I've got a JDM ZC engine for sale. The engine comes with DC 4-2-1 header, a AEM cold air intake, MSD ignition, a brand new altenator, a water pump, a competition gasket set, and other maintance parts. The engine's head has been shaved, not alot though. I have all the reciepts in my possession, still. So far I've put 2,200 miles on the engine itself. With the purchase of this engine, you'll also get the ZC ecu, and transmission. FYI, I've never reved the engine past 4500 rpm's. Why? Because I am giving the motor time to break in. Accordingly, this engine, so far, has been treated like a baby

Selling all for Price 1,800
