B16A1 info wanted

by

Could you please e-mail me the info on the swap. I plan to put the engine in this summer. I have 91 civic hb DX 5-speed. Could also tell me a place that has good prices for buying the engine. I would really appericate it alot. Also if you could provide a wiring diagram that would be really helpful.

Thank You

h22 all the way

by

yes the prelude motor is huge but, it will not effect the sterring. the bitch about the h22 motor is getting it in and getting it running. you will go through axle like crazy though but it is worth it when your in the 13's in the 1/4 mile.

GSR PRELUDE CRAZY!!

by

Hey jackass are you gonna be driving in a line or gonna go track? if u want better handling then fuk those two engines. Just get a b16b! Civic Type R engine man. Nice and light but they have plenty of potential plus u can be the only guy on the street with a civic type r!! Couple places have Spoon built b16bs for like 3gs about as much as a h22. u can make those just as crazy!! get it breathing better, get urself some better injectors, ecu, vtec controller and if ur one of those fag line drivers maybe a supercharger(not exhaust driven) or some shit. Maybe get a little wet.

re: b18c or b18c1

by

they are the same motor unless u mean b18b or b18c1. b18b comes out interga ls. b18c1 is out of gsr. and b18c5 is out of type R if it were me i would pick b18c1, because gsr cost alot less than a c5 and has alot more hp than a b18b. there is also a lot of after market support for the c1 than the ls motor. some may say the biggest reason for the b18c1 than the b18b is the VTEC but that all depends on your setup.

re: b18c or b18c1

by brandon

im sorry it toatlly slipped my mine that you might have been talking about jdm motors there is a b18c, but depending on cost of that motor vs the cost of a b18c1 is how i would pick, because there isn't that much difference

One is a JDM model with 180 HP vs. a USDM model with 170 HP. Very little difference, higher CR in the JDM model

A REAL OLD SKOOL CHALLENGE

by

I have a 1981 (yes 1981) Honda Civic hatchback. It has had several thousand dollars spent on it and nearly everything is new, except, it keeps mysteriously blowing head gaskets. The previous owner put a head on the rebuild and in a few hundred miles it popped. Replaced the head again and in a few hundred miles it popped. I witnessed the work done by PO and believe they did it right, but it just keeps popping heads. This leads me to believe (since the car has recently fallen into my posession) that I would rather just find a running engine and swap the whole mess out. I KNOW MOST of you have old Hondas that are still much newer than this, this is a REAL OLD SKOOL CIVIC, and with all the new parts the rest of the car has been damn near restored, I hate to just get rid of it, I would rather make it run and keep it. My question, I want either, a source in the Seattle area (hopefully) for a running '81 or '82 Civic 1500cc engine - OR - advice from the forum here on what other engines would fit this car with NO (or childishly simple) MODS. Advice please, from those who know about the oldass Hondas I love Peace, -Mac seattlex19@yahoo.com

Re: thank you but will it install without mods? or ?? <nt>

by beater

this engine should swap in without alot of trouble or mods to the car a new ecu and wireing harrness are a must due to the fact these are fuel injected and your is a carb so you will basicly need the entire engine which can be found from someone who swaped in a new engine because they will have to use entirely diffrent parts
