with a JM 55 spring, some old skool buttons, and a rehab'd leather seal. Its shooting a really smooth 640 or so. Once I receive a few boxes back from Paul (2 this week I think), I'll pack this one up and send it to TN. In his spare time (LOL), Paul's going to work on fabbing the jam nut and sight hood. I still need to refurb the front sight pin and find a period HW steel diopter. From what I understand, finding the diopter will probably take years! I had originally thought about re-bluing and refinishing the stock. However, the guys on the Vintage Forum have talked me out of it. Some of the guys seem to think that this is an odd (and therefore rare) transitional rifle between the old 2 forearm screw 55s and the newer 1 forearm screw 55s. This one dates from 1953-55. In any case, no harm in leaving it as is. Honest wear as GB likes to say!
How's this for a long-winded answer to a simple question??? BTW, if you're interested in more pics and discussion you can find it here
