Re: back up !

I'll try and get something new up before too long. I'm picking up a kiln this weekend. I'll start doing some color case on some parts to try my hand at it before doing a gun. I was sending the stuff out but got a really good deal on a kiln. They usually run about $2K, so I wasn't in a big hurry to dive off into it myself. I'll try to get some pictures up when I get some stuff together.

Re: case color

It's going to be a little while before I'll do a gun. The quenching process is more art than anything else. It's what lays the pattern on the part being done. I've only seen a handful of people that can do it right. I'll have to practice on scrap for a while before I commit to doing parts on a rifle.

I still haven't made everything to get started. Off the shelf containers aren't large enough to hold the parts that go in the kiln. My kiln is big enough but I still have to make the crucible and make some bone charcoal. I'll put some pictures up when I get some stuff done.
