When you have a high risk of HPV does that mean you have an std or anything related to that? Or does that mean you may just have cervical cancer?

HPV stands for the Human Papilloma Virus. This particular virus has been shown to be implication in the carcinogenesis of cervical cancer. That means that is you catch this virus you are likely to develop cervical cancer later in life.HPV is spread by sexual intercorse. That means that you get like you get syphilis or gonorrhoea. However with HPV there are no immediate symptoms like genital discharge or irritation. The HPV is hourboured by the woman and it works to cause cancer in the cervix. Prevention is the same as that of other diseases.
