www.entrenousdc.com

Entre Nous is DC's hottest up-scale night for stunning and sexy couples and single women in the "lifestyle"! Entre Nous is held every Saturday evening @ BAR NUN, 1326 U Street, NW DC, 9pm to 3am. The event is Off Premise, No Membership is Required, and our typical attendance is 150-200 guests. If you're looking for a fun and sexy time in DC, then Entre Nous is the party for you! Only the hottest couples and women in the lifetstyle, and LOTS of flirting, dancing, and meeting some very open minded people! Hope to see you there!

Check out our website for party info, details, FAQ's, pics, and more!

Here are some FAQs about Entre Nous and their
responses...

1.) Entre Nous is for Couples and Single women only on
Saturdays. No Single men. No exceptions.

2.) Entre Nous is an "Off Premise" lifestyle social
event. Meaning, there is no sex or swapping, etc.. at
the event.(but we often have informal after hour
parties at guest homes/apartments/hotels, etc... that are on-prem, and lots of fun!)

3.) Bar Nun has two levels, two dance floors with different musical themes, two DJ booths, a huge cyber-erotic Fiber Optic Dance Cage, several intimate and well decorated lounges, two very well stocked bars, and an excellent and professional staff who pour some of the heaviest drinks in town!

4.) Entre Nous opens at 9pm and closes at 3am. We
encourage new guests to arrive as early as possible so
they can meet the hosts, the owners, etc... and have a
chance to get the general run down of the event, have
questions answered, meet people, etc. The crowd really
starts to build up around 10:30, and is absolutely
packed by 1am.

5.) Entre Nous is very close to the Green line, U
Street Metro stop (1/2 block away). There is a parking
lot directly across the street, but it does fill up by
11pm or soon after.

6.) To attend Entre Nous, you must be 18 to enter and
21 to drink. The *average* age of couples and singles
at the event is 28-30. Entre Nous markets to guests in
the 21-35 range, but we also have a good number
outside this age range. Single women represent
approximately 10-15% of the guests. Most of the women who attend Entre Nous (as part of a couple or single) are bisexual (atleast 90% are). Most of the women and couples at Entre Nous are looking for other couples or women for threesomes, fourseomes, and moresomes! So, if this is your cup of tea, then Entre Nous is the place for you! Remember, the guests simply meet at Entre Nous, flirt heavily, and then "take it to the next level" at a different location, like their homes, hotel, or one of the various after parties that some of the guests host! So the evening doesn't have to end at 3am when Bar Nun closes.... and it rarely does!

7) The musical selection at Entre Nous, spun by live
DJs, ranges from Euro-Dance mixes to R&B and
Industrial. There is something for everyone! (Please
don't hesitate to make a request of your friendly DJ!)

8) For specific directions to Entre Nous from your
location, please see mapquest.com. Our address is -
Bar Nun 1326 U Street, NW, Washington.

9)Upscale club dress and erotic wear are encouraged.

10) IMPORTANT: ENTRE NOUS RULES OF CONDUCT

We expect all of our guests to behave in a friendly
and respectful manner to others. Sexual or verbal
harrassment will not be tolerated in any form. We have
fostered a "no pressure" environment of like-minded
individuals and couples, and wish for it to remain so.
The staff of Entre Nous reserves the right to ask any
guest to leave at any time, and infractions may result
in a permanent ban from the event. This is for your
protection and your ease of mind!

PS: Please pass this invite along to friends who may
be interested!

If you ask any of the respected breakbeat producers who they rate highly in the scene, no matter what particular tip they’re on, you can guarantee that one name would be right up there — B.L.I.M. (Boy Lost In Music), a producer, remixer and DJ based in East London. He started as a drum & bass artist releasing tunes on Emotif and SOUR before moving over to Botchit & Scarper when he caught the breaks bug a few years ago. His collaboration with former stable mate Freq Nasty produced some memorable remixes included Steve Reich’s ‘Desert Music’ and Metisse’s ‘Sousound’. As a recording artist on Botchit, B.L.I.M. produced the Detroit-esque ‘Chronologic’ which has become a breaks scene classic. His collaboration with Chris Carter and Shara Nelson,‘U’, was another ‘must have’ tune, neatly combining ‘Nu Skool’ sentiments with a vocal to die for. On his Botchit single ‘Metronydazol’, he collaborated with Meat Katie for, of all things, a 4/4 stomper, ‘Distorted Soul’, on Whole 9 Yards, illustrating the ever increasing influence of breaks on the entire dance scene.

Tonight WARMpeople will transform the patio as never seen before with lush video projection by Negative Space, live painting and interactive lighting accompanied with deep and funky house music. You know to expect the only the raunchy best from Northern Virginia’s Syndicate crew. Their tag-team patio sets are traditionally one of the stand-out nights of the summer season. Expect outrageous behavior, boorish men, lewd women and of course excellent music, with styles ranging from house to drum ‘n’ bass to neo-electro to breaks to techno. On top of it all, it’s Sinestro’s birthday — longstanding ringleader of the Syndicate. Make sure to spank him silly. And from Luxx in NY it’s the DC debut of Linus, “The World’s ‘Worst’ Rapper.” Some things have to be heard to be believed...

Within the drum ‘n’ bass scene, DJ Bailey was Metalheadz’ best kept secret — but not any longer. This legendary drum ‘n’ bass DJ may not be famous because of his production credits, but he over-compensates for that fact with his above-par mixing skills. Ask any serious D&B fan about Bailey abilities, and they will read you his full credentials.

Tony Colman and Chris Goss, aka London Elektricity, are the restless producers of soulful drum and bass, and the odd bit of downtempo millennial funk. The founders and backbone of Hospital Records, they released their first electrical tune in 1996, while making random appearances under the monikers Future Homosapiens, Dwarf Electro, and Orkestra Galactica. They perform all over the world, playing both deep and funky drum and bass, and freestyle sets; they've turned out remixes for The Headhunters, Nitin Sawnhey, UFO, Aquasky and Bird, and released countless singles and one critically acclaimed album ‘Pull The Plug.’ In their spare time they compile the Plastic Surgery and Out Patients series, drum and bass and freestyle respectively, and take care of various runnings at Hospital HQ - from the contracts to the packaging design. Matt Darey’s Ultra hard trance has it all -- the arrangements, the banging vibe, wicked new sounds — proper mental music. Despite having pioneered the euphoric trance sound of the late ‘90s, Matt has switched gears after taking an 18-month hiatus from club culture. His new sound is now tougher and funkier, with snarling riffs colliding with funked up beats. Taken from: www.ministryofsound.com

If you’re into harder dance sounds, then it is imperative that you make your voice heard tonight. We’ve received many of your requests for more U.K. Hard House and techno DJ’s at Buzz, and one of our New Year’s resolutions of 2002 was to broaden this sound’s range here in DC. You may have noticed added diversity to our recent lineups. This night will mark the first time with an entire main room lineup comprised of UK Hard House DJ’s. She can always be relied upon to ignite any dance floor with her trademark Hard UK House sound. She has played in clubs all over the world from Ibiza, Japan, South Africa and of course London's infamous Trade, the Mecca for all Hard House lovers. Vinylgroover first started DJ'ing in 1992 at the age of 15, and by 1994 he was headlining events such as Tribal Gathering, Universe and World Dance, playing in front of tens of thousands every week at only 17 years of age. He held residencies at Dreamscape, Helter Skelter and Fusion to name but a few, there was also bookings with the likes of Carl Cox at massive clubs such as Kinetic, The Manor, Rhythm Station, Hard Dock, The Eclypse and Pandemonium. As the 90’s progressed, the music coming from the likes of Tidy Trax, Tinrib and the formation of the Nukleuz label seemed to lead the way for a tough, underground house style which grabbed his attention right away. In the U.K he can be found spinning at the massive Bowlers complex in Manchester, Submaniac at Imperial Gardens, Amedaus in Kent, Lakota and G.B.H. in Bristol and Bath, as well as some forthcoming Nukleuz one-off events. DJ Amadeus @ Entre Nous this Saturday!

by

Don't forget that this Saturday's Theme is Incognito Night! Don your favorite wigs, masks, sunglasses, hats, boas, body makeup, jewels, fake mustaches, body prosthetics or *whatever* to be ANYBODY but you! Be creative, and take a hint from some of the club pics I'll be posting this week! Also...this is a CONTEST. Best fake-out gets *one* free admission on your night of choice to the club (excluding special events). So go all out!
Remember, Drinks are 2-for-1 before 10:30! AND, All single women get in for Free before 10:30! Make sure you meet all of the women from Capital Lipstick at the downstairs bar at 10pm for the Girl Gang Happy Hour! AND, this week's Special Guest DJ is DJ Amadeus (Former resident at the Edge Fridays -Cyberia-, and MOI Productions)! He's a WAX Master, and will make you sweat! ALSO!!! If all goes according to plan, we should have a new feature on the upstairs dance floor! A HUGE Custome made Fiber-Optic Dance Cage! So get your go-go gear ready, and be an exhibitionist dancer (stay clothed!) for the crowd!

See you Saturday!
XOXOX - Jennifer & Todd

The Virus Records crew — Ed Rush, Optical and Ryme Tyme, land Buzz’s fourth drum ‘n’ bass residency spot. Expect to hear them 6 times per year (once every other month), along with other drum ‘n’ bass residents Total Science, Dieselboy and John Tab. Not to be outdone, the main room welcomes another resident to its ranks — Charles Feelgood — who threw Baltimore’s Fever party for almost a decade with Scott Henry. Feelgood will also be at Buzz on alternating months. 2002 is looking mighty real right now!

FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2002: U.K. HARD HOUSE TAKEOVER!
Admission: $12 before 11 p.m. | $15 after 11 p.m.

So drag out your friends who dig this sound, get the word out online and represent fully tonight, to show that tougher beats belong in the main room at Buzz too! This night will mark the first time with an entire main room lineup comprised of UK Hard House DJ’s. These DJ’s are 200% confirmed — all visas are in order, and we’re working with different agencies this time.

Rachel Auburn is an accomplished and energetic DJ from the UK who has rocked dancefloors from her early days of Taboo to recent residencies at The Fridge and Garage, in London. She can always be relied upon to ignite any dance floor with her trademark Hard UK House sound. She has played in clubs all over the world from Ibiza, Japan, South Africa and of course London's infamous Trade, the Mecca for all Hard House lovers. Rachel is also part of the infamous Tidy Girls -- made up of Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage and Lisa Pinup. Visit her website at:http://www.truelove.co.uk/rachel/index.html

DJ Kam Guest Spots @ Entre Nous 2nd Year Anniversary!

by

Entre Nous
Second Year Anniversary Party!
March 2nd 2002

This Saturday Night we are celebrating our Second Year Anniversary Party at Entre Nous! We hope you all can make it out to celebrate with us! Joining the Infamous DJ Larry B (aka: The Beast!) and DJ Solaries will be Guest DJ Kam! )See below for more info about Kam).

This Saturday night is going to be Awesome!

As you know, we are at Bar Nun now! And we're open from 9pm to 3am!
Bar Nun is located (two doors to the left of Erico) at 1326 U Street. All the other directions to U Street are the same, of course. Bar Nun has two levels, two dance floors, two DJ booths, several lounges, two very well stocked bars, and excellent staff who pour some of the heaviest drinks in town (usually a double), AND they are giving us a DRINK SPECIAL of 2-for-1 rails and domestics from 9pm to 10:30 pm!!! So make sure you come early and take advantage of this! AND, Single women get in For FREE before 10:30 as well! You are going to love the spaciousness of Bar Nun, about twice the size of Erico. The Lounges are very nice, with some interesting and comfortable furniture…. Perfect for some great conversations with new friends! They also sell a few (limited) brands of cigarettes at the downstairs bar! In general, if you want it, they have it behind the bar (as far as drinks go), so no more non-stocked-bar syndrome! Remember to come early because the parking lot across the street fills up early!
DJ KAM
Guest Spots at Entre Nous this Saturday!
This Week @ Entre Nous we have a Special Guest Dj coming in to make you dance your ass off! DJ Kam! He'll be mixing up the wax with some very sexy cuts, dropping some Deep grooves and Hard beats! You may have seen Kam spin befor in the DC area! He's Djed with Eddie Baez (insomnia) , Johnny Vicious (insomnia), Fragma (insomnia) , Jocelyn Enriquez (insomnia), Dj Skribbles (platinum), Cliff Tangreddi, Dj Icon & Captain Neo(san fransisco), former
resident at insomnia friday nights for 1 1/2 years, former Thurs night resident at platinum, former Friday night resident at Zei, former resident at the cage friday nights, former resident at the Volt Sat's, he's opened for Sandra Collins, Saeed and Palash, and was the former resident at the Spy
club!

See you all Saturday Night!

XOXO
-Todd & Jennifer
Entre Nous!
Every Saturday Night @ Bar Nun
1326 U Street, NW DC
202-667-6680
9pm to 3am!
www.entrenousdc.com

Parking Lot directly across the street!
Green Line Metro to U Street stop (1/2 block from club, exit on 13th street side of metro and walk up U Street towards 14th street).

We have many couples and singles who have had their
first "lifestyle" experiences at EN and have expressed
similar concerns. Actually, we created EN to be a
place where *we* would like to be guests. Here are
some FAQs and their responses...I hope to see you at
the club soon! XOXOX - Jennifer

1.) Entre Nous is for Couples and Single women only.
No Single men. No exceptions.

2.) Entre Nous is an "Off Premise" swinger social
event. Meaning, there is no sex or swapping, etc.. at
the event.

3.) Bar Nun, the hosting venue for Entre Nous, is laid
out on two levels.

Single women represent
approximately 10% of the guests.

7) The musical selection at Entre Nous, spun by live
DJs, ranges from Euro-Dance mixes to Hard House and
Industrial. There is something for everyone! (Please
don't hesitate to make a request of your friendly DJ!)

8) For specific directions to Entre Nous from your
location, please see mapquest.com. Our address is 1326
U Street, NW, Washington.

9)Upscale club dress and erotic wear are encouraged.

10)IMPORTANT: ENTRE NOUS RULES OF CONDUCT

We expect all of our guests to behave in a friendly
and respectful manner to others. Sexual or verbal
harrassment will not be tolerated in any form. We have
fostered a "no pressure" enviroment of like-minded
individuals and couples, and wish for it to remain so.
The staff of Entre Nous reserves the right to ask any
guest to leave at any time, and infractions may result
in a permanent ban from the event. This is for your
protection and your ease of mind!

If you have any other questions (or suggestions for
this list) please post to the message board!

Thanks and see you at EN! XOXO Todd & Jennifer

At this first HoneyDew party of 2002, Buzz twists its melons and extends its techno coverage for a different type of Buzz event. Carl Cox and Madam Zu (see bio below) will be delivering, respectively, some serious techno and UK Hard House thunder, while BionicDots (www.bionicdots.com) will screen-project a DJ-synchronized, visually-stunning, 3-D animation show on stage. The aptly-themed “Optical Delusional Tekno” night will also feature 16 techno-beams along the mezzanines of the main room, in addition to Nation’s already extraordinary two-truss lighting installation. To top it off, the king of American drum ‘n’ bass, Dieselboy, is teaming up with the UK’s leading lady of jungle, DJ Rap, for a night of Dirty Beats in the front room.

“They’re at it again — with the colored lights and the strange sounds...” Yes, this time we’re stirring things up a bit differently at our annual old school party. The main room will be all UK hardcore breakbeat all night long, including the Buzz debut set by Slipmatt, one of the UK’s original hardcore rave troopers. Stakka & Skynet will be dropping lots of late-hardcore/proto-jungle madness in the MAIN ROOM, as will DB. Meanwhile in the front room, Scott Henry and DJ Dan will tag-team most of the night with a mix of old school breaks and other selections from the summertime Bit o’ Honey sessions on the patio. And John Tab will precede their set with the timeless atmospheric drum ‘n’ bass selections you’ve heard on his “Solitary Refinement” CD. Don’t miss this only-once-per-year party.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
In 1990 Slipmatt started his own record label with DJ Lime - AWESOME RECORDS - and released "The Noise/Bassquake" which sold 3,500 thousand copies underground. In the summer of 1991 he released "DJ's Take Control/Way In My Brain" which was picked up by XL RECORDINGS and got to number 11 in the UK charts and was also released in Benelux, Germany, and Italy. "On A Ragga Tip" was released in April 1992 and reached number 2 in the UK charts and number 1 in the network charts - staying in the top 7 for eight weeks. This led to Slipmatt’s numerous British TV appearances, including twice on Top of The Pops. Tonight he’s at Buzz, sharing his musical version of rave history with DC. (from www.moonshine.com)

With her unique mixing style and feisty good looks, Lisa Lashes is widely regarded as the number one female DJ among UK clubbers and promoters. Confirmation came by Lisa being voted number nine DJ in the world (as voted for by DJ Magazine), the highest position ever obtained by a female DJ. Lisa has headlined all the major UK festivals (Homelands, Global Gathering, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System and Knebworth). She holds major residencies at Sundissential, Slinky, Bubblelove and Hotdog, spinning up to 8 gigs per week! In collaboration with Tidy Trax, Lisa is running her own DJ agency, “Lashed Artist Management.” Finally, her mixed CD “Hard House Euphoria” sold over 200,000 copies, the best selling Hard House compilation in the world. Tonight is her debut performance at Buzz. (from www.djlisalashes.com)

Rino Cerrone has been involved with the underground techno scene in Naples, Italy, for almost a decade. Naples is the hotbed of the Italian techno and tech-house scene, and is known as homebase for another of the techno scene’s finest DJ’s — Marco Corolla. In 1999 Rino built a home studio and started up his own label “ri’li:s” (pronounced phonetically as “release”) and participated in many different techno and tech-house projects. Coincidentally, many of his records are spun by Misstress Barbara, who will be DJing with him tonight in the main room. (from www.rilisrec.com)

A jack of all and master of many could be Erick Morillo's motto. Morillo is a livewire with the drive of a Ferrari, the chutzpah of a patent medicine salesperson and the charm of a beetle. He can play a bit, too. As a producer, he has churned out tracks under a bewildering array of pseudonyms (Ministers De la Funk, Pianoheadz, RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate and Li'l Mo Ying Yang to name but some). As a DJ, he has played the world over from his base in Jersey, to Ibiza, Greece and beyond. Then there's his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound, the first American to secure this spot since Tony Humphries back in 1992; and, for whom, he has released 2 compilation CD's. For good measures he's also remixed Whitney Houston, Crystal Waters, Jocelyn Brown, Basement Jaxx, Madison Avenue, Enrique Inglesias, and so many more. And then, of course, there's a small matter of one of the biggest selling dance acts of all time. Reel 2 Reel. Yep, Erick Morillo is a busy guy. Tonight he teams up with Subliminal label-mate, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero — you know, the guy who made the track “I Want Out” -- "I just can't believe all the things people say, why must I deal with this **** every ****ing day...” (from www.subliminalrecords.com)

As a producer, DJ and remixer, Chicago’s Felix da Housecat (aka Afrohead, aka Thee Madkatt Chronicles, aka Felix Stallings Jr.) has packed a lifetime’s worth of music into a mere decade, dabbling in house, techno, Eurodisco — you name it — along the way. So it comes as no surprise that Felix has once again located the pulse of the scene, capitalizing on the massive resurgence of electro and new wave sounds with “Kittenz and Thee Glitz”, his most compelling album to date. Satoshi Tomiie is, quite simply, Japan's most successful international DJ and House producer. He’s teamed up with legendary DJ Frankie Knuckles and co-produced "Tears", a defining moment in vocal house and a song now commonly regarded as an all time classic. He has remixed and worked with the likes of David Bowie, U2, Mariah Carey, just to name a few. In 2000 Satoshi wrote and produced his debut album for Sony entitled "Full Lick,” which was met with critical acclaim by his fans and the press. "Up in Flames", one of the singles from the album, included mixes from John Digweed and became a number one dance hit in the UK. It is also featured on a number of mix CD’s including Global Underground mixed by Steve Lawler. Recently, Satoshi launched his own label SAW.RECORDINGS. His first single entitled "Paranoize" by Bipath has caused major excitement from DJ's worldwide. SAW.RECORDINGS is an example of the direction that Satoshi is heading in, acknowledging the changes in the dance music scene, thus shifting what House music is. House music never stops evolving and expanding its borders and Satoshi Tomiie will be in the forefront of this movement. From: http://www.sato****omiie.com/

His current residencies include: Digweed’s "Bedrock" club in England as well as Home in London @ the Whole Nine Yards night. Do not miss out on one of the world’s most essential breakbeat DJ’s.

There is just no stopping Total Science. Probably the most prolific drum ‘n’ bass producers of the past two years, this duo has been one of the major reasons for the recent upsurge in the musical popularity of drum ‘n’ bass. Their influences stem from the UK rave scene’s golden years, redefining for a new generation what jungle’s original vibe was — breakbeat mayhem, sub-basslines, wicked riffs and snatches of trippy vocals, all making for a mind****ing sound that can’t be found in any other genre of dance music. Over the past year, a short list of their anthems include “Jungle Jungle,” “Make Me Feel,” “Face Riders,” and “Freeze.” But these records are just the tip of the musical iceberg. The “Tuned-In” LP, plus side projects by Q Project and releases under aliases such as Legacy, all point to an outpouring of material that no other drum ‘n’ bass producer can rival. Tonight they are back at Buzz!

The return of the White Party — now an annual Buzz tradition! Just ask anybody how much fun last year’s white party was, and you know you won’t want to miss this. The club will be festively decorated entirely in white, with eye-dazzling white light shows and UV illumination. But what really counts is YOUR active participation — here’s your chance to get connected and contribute to the party. Wear all white clothing to enhance the vibe tonight — not khaki, not beige, but WHITE! When the lights scan across the dancefloor, the room will literally glow. Plus, you’ll get a discount at the door!

The return of Dylan to Buzz promises to be an exciting night for the junglists. The man who’s teamed up with Loxy, Ink and countless others to make some of 2001’s essential anthems such as “California Curse,” “Need You” and more, is back in DC. His definitive remix of Missy Elliott’s “Get Your Freak On” rises above all imposter interpretations. His labels Outbreak and Cylon (which he runs with Loxy) release a steady stream of hardcore revival drum ‘n’ bass. He’s remixed Joey Beltram’s “Energy Flash,” and “Mentasm,” as well as Moby’s “Go!” Dylan’s recent track “Different Sensation” lifts from classic rave anthem “The Gonzo” by Lost. Tonight Dylan’s girlfriend, Robyn Scharaga, who appears on the track “Possession” will perform vocals over a few of his tracks as Faith in Chaos. If you like the way drum ‘n’ bass sounds lately, as it reconnects with its hardcore breakbeat roots, then do not miss this night.

Paul Edge started the Outer Limits nightclub in London in 1990, an event that is still running to this day. During its eleven year run it’s hosted the world’s leading DJ’s — Laurent Garnier, Luke Slater, the Advent, Derrick May, Terry Francis, Mr. C., Andrew Weatherall, Dave Angel and many more. The Outer Limits has nurtured many of the crossover musical movements such as techno, tech-house and tech-trance, long before many people recognized these terms. The pivotal focus of the Outer Limits is Paul Edge, who defines the music policy through his DJing. His record label’s (Response Audio) first release, “Sequence 23” was played by Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Donald Glaude, Judge Jules and others. For those of you into the techno and tech-house sounds, you’ll want to witness Paul Edge’s debut peformance at Buzz.

Following up on the album releases of Mei-so, Mi-Light and Kakusei, DJ Krush is back with his much-anticipated sixth studio album entitled ZEN. Spending over six months for recording in Tokyo, NY, LA and Philadelphia, Krush succeeds in expressing the changing atmosphere towards the new millennium in various forms of sound. Featured guests include: Zap Mama whose over-dubbed soul-healing voice stunned Krush in the studio, MC Black Thought and drummer Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson from The Roots, Nigerian percussion genius Tunde Ayanyemi, and Company Flow. “Kazufumi Kodama” who met Krush for the first time six years ago in studio since their collaboration on a track called “On The Dub-Blue” from Krush’s first album appears on ZEN, along with “BOSS THE MC” an emerging rapper/lyricist of a popular hip-hop group THA BLUE HERB, among others.

25-year old Louis Osbourne -- yes, the son of rocker Ozzy — is an accomplished DJ in his own right. He plays across a broad musical spectrum, but his preference is deep house and techno influenced by the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Derrick Carter, Deep Dish, Darren Emerson and Carl Cox. Complementing his DJ career, he worked as a full time record reviewer for DJ Magazine and was manager of Hard to Find Records in Birmingham, UK. Tonight is his debut performance at Buzz.

Formed in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, Utah Saints took their name from the Nicolas Cage movie, “Raising Arizona.” The duo is best known for their early ‘90s rave classic "Something Good,” which was built around a Kate Bush vocal sample from her single, "Cloudbusting.” But they return with a vengeance in 2K1 — a remix of their latest track, “Lost Vagueness” is one of the opening tracks on the new Scott Henry album, “The Politics of Sound.” (tonight’s event rescheduled from September)

Kemal and Rob Data have come a long way since hooking up a few years ago in a local record store. After realizing that they had similar taste in music ("we prefer the hard, techno-influenced drum & bass"), they linked up, Kemal drawing on his early love of acid and Detroit techno and mixing it up with Rob's hardcore-breakbeat roots. Nowhere has this recipe been more successfully evident than on the brooding stormer 'Messiah'. An exhilarating ride for those on the floor and a definite pleaser for those behind the decks, the tune has solidified Kemal and Rob's position as producers to watch. With their unreleased bits continually being hammered on plate and their constant touring schedule, Kemal and Rob still find time to drop anthemic releases and remixes on a wide variety of labels from Audio Blueprint to Timeless and now their own imprint Negative. B.L.I.M. is one of the most important figures on the Breaks scene. He has remixed a series of landmark tunes for Circulation, Hooj, and Eruption and his rework of Anthony Rother's 'Red Light District' has just been selected by Dave Clarke for his World Service compilation. His collaboration with former stable mate Freq Nasty produced some memorable remixes included Steve Reich's 'Desert Music' and Metisse's 'Sousound". As a recording Artist on Botchit, B.L.I.M. produced the Detroitesque 'Chronologic' which has become a breaks scene classic. His recent collaboration with Chris Carter, ‘Check It Out’, is another 'must have' tune. More recently in a divergence of style hinted at by a previous Botchit single 'Metronydazol', he collaborated with Meat Katie for, of all things, a 4/4 stomper, 'Distorted Soul', on Whole 9 Yards.

Tonight Buzz will donate $1 from every ticket sold to the Electronic Music Defense and Education Fund. The goal of the EM:DEF is to raise and provide funds for legal assistance to innocent professionals in the electronic dance music business who are targeted by law enforcement. In addition to providing funds for legal efforts to protect the industry, EM:DEF will serve as a spokes-agency for the electronic dance music industry -- providing an independent voice on behalf of industry professionals, while allowing professionals to avoid public association which could result in retaliation by law enforcement. Fresh, new blood in the drum ‘n’ bass scene, Invaderz is forging a sound that fits somewhere between the smooth grooves of Marcus Intalex and the conscious revivalism of Total Science. The track, “Mirage’ on the Total Science “Tune In” LP earlier this year, as well as the release, “Wintersun” on Metalheadz, speaks volumes as to why Invaderz is rising fast in the ranks. Check out “Orion” on C.I.A. Recordings, as well as their remix of Total Science’s “Jet Set.” Tonight is the debut performance in DC at Buzz. For more info see: www.invaderz.co.uk
