We, in the United States, as one people, united in this time of "crises", have made attempts to reach the light: but in the pain of the knowledge we have turned our heads and headed futher into our cave of ignorance. We long to conceive the knowledge of the other 90% of our brain, but when just 1% of that is revealed, ,we turn our heads away. In our own ignorance, we keep ourselves from truth and knowledge. Some people tap into part of our brain and obtain "powers" that we think untrue (ie: bending spoons by telekenesis). We think them freaks and liars if they claim this. Why must we shun the knowledge that we long? We stay in the cave even after realizing that we are still in it. We realize that there is something else there, but turn from it. What is there to be scared of? Why can we not allow ourselves to develop our minds to that point, and conceive the ideas represented in the Allegory of the Cave"? Enlightenment is strived for, but not reached due to our own ignorance, but if we dispose of that, then, won't we be better off?
