Not necessarily. You can go from one false knowledge to another. The allegory of the cave is about the liberation of the mind. But that doesn't mean that you are going to be happier, because there are a lot of injustices in the world, both for humans and animals. Western and Middle Eastern religions have made us insensitive to these.
