Interestingly enough there are an array of similarities between the Allegory and Jesus Christ. For instance we could first of all draw from the fact that both the prisoner and Jesus have been trapped in a cave at some point. Both are said to have escaped imprisonment ie that the prisoner journeys from the cave and Christ's body later disappears from the cave. Secondly after this journey to enlightenment from beyond the shadows of the cave both the escaped prisoner and Christ somehow return to the life they had before. The prisoner returns to the shadows of the cave to liberate to other prisoners and Jesus is resurrected thus freeing us from our sins. I am no Theologist so anyone else who may wish to draw more from this illustration than I can, I invite to do so. Otherwise I feel this is a good basis to begin with, a foundation of sorts, please feel free to take this and draw more from it if you'd like. I hope these insights help you somewhat in your studies. Good luck in the future and thank you for visiting the cave.
