I'm wondering if there's any documentation of Socrates' reaction to the behavior of his platonic lover Alciabades out there. I'm talking specifically about Alciabades' legitimate crimes against the state. Did Socrates see his friend as a persecuted philosopher like he himself was or did he see his behavior as a true crime against that state that nurtured him and that same state that Socrates was unwilling to be exiled from? |
