WCL Division 3 South predictions-22/4/06April 19 2006 at 2:10 PM No score for this post | Statto (no login) from IP address 86.128.204.49 |
| - Alright I know this is the Marches League forum, but seeing as Monmouth and Wormelow have joined the Worcestershire League for this year (and Colwall are in the same division too) then how they get on is of interest to me at least.
Predictions for this week:
Birlingham to draw with Martley
Old Elizabethans III to lose to Old Vigornians
Rushwick to beat Hanley Castle & Upton
Tenbury to lose to Monmouth
Worcester Dominies & Guild to lose to Colwall
Wormelow to beat Himbleton
Any Monmouth, Wormelow or Colwall players got any predictions?! |

Think both sides will do ok this season wormelow
will maybe struggle a little but should do ok.
Monmouth i fancy to challenge Colwall and hope they
do well, a few B&TCC members will be taking a keen
interest in results and rumours of a spying/drinking
mission to Worcester Dominies next saturday is rumoured |

Yeah It was a good game. Monmouth played some good cricket but were beaten by a good side. Full Credit to them look forward to the return fixture. |

On the early form I reckon it's a 3 way battle between Colwall, Monmouth and Wormelow as to who will finish in the top 2 and go up. Worcester Dominies & Guild and a couple of others might spring the odd surprise along the way. Colwall 2nds won and Wormelow & Monmouth 2nds had winning draws so their 2nd teams all seem to have taken to the league as well as their 1sts have. All of the other sides in Div 3 South used to be in WCL Div 3 or 4 before this season though so it'll be interesting to see how the 2 promoted sides fare in Division 2 next season. |

Id be very surprised if 2 sides from Div 3 South went up to Div 2. Surely it'll only be the 1 side from Div 3 South and 1 from Div 3 North...? Its all dependent on who comes down from the Birmingham League's I think

True, it's dependent on how many of the 3 Worcestershire teams in Birmingham League Division 3 come down, but if only 1 comes down then 2 will go up from Div 3 South, if 2 come down the 2nd placed team with most points in Worcs Div 3 South and Worcs Div 3 North will go up, and if all 3 come down then as you said only the winners of Div 3 South and North will go up. I'd be surpised if more than 1 came down from the Birmingham League though. |

Reports from the 1st team lads suggest that they missed several chances in the field, but lost to a better side on the day. These things happen. I think it will probably take the club as a whole a few games to adjust to the new settings in the WCL, i.e the winning/losing draw, importance in the toss, 50 over cricket etc, but I think they should be good enough for a top 3 spot come the end of the season, time will tell I suppose.

Big win for Monmouth and a narrow one for Wormelow at the weekend, but Colwall only managed a losing draw. Could the two ex-Marches sides go up at the expense of the ex-West of England League side?! |
