How does a club like them who play on a cabbage patch manage to win div 2! Is the standard of the marches so bad that they wil be in league 1!

suppose if you only play a third of your games then anyone can win their league, look at Canon fodder when they won the marches a few years ago.
I hear there was some creative umpiring that helped them on their way.

Having a minefield for a track helps as well.

If you look at Glangrwyney they only played 3 home games so I don't think you can blame them for that. Plus it's the same for both teams. We've played at places like Marden whos pitch and outfield has been shocking. The whole quality of the marches league has gone downhill facilities and players.

COME ON!

Glangrwyney typify what is wrong with the ML.

Square is a joke, outfield is a minefield, players either argue with the oposition when thay are winning or with each other when they are losing. No one ever enjoys playing them, and they are back in division I.

I hear the league fixture sec wants to abolish the pitch scoring system!

I wonder why.

How many years ago was their equipment nicked, 17 wasn't it! Nothing to do with the pre season car boot sale they hold on their ground and the fact the field isn't cut until mid April.

ML - take a grip, S Newton, stop being so romantic. We want to play good cricket, on good grounds with good facilities, and there has been very little improvement in the ML standards in 15 years.

Sort it out, in five years the ML won't exist otherwise.

Fair point about Marden though they have a reputation of throwing their toys out of the pram at every opportunity. Who's that annoying ginger opening bowler who thinks he's quick? When we played them he was acting like a two year old.

Most of the pitches we have played on (including Glangrwyneys) have been ****e this year. Some may argue it was partly to do with the weather, which is true, but it is also underlining the decline is standards in the league. There are only going to be a handfull of decent pitches around next year like Garnons and Builth.

Talgarth is without doubt the best pitch and outfield in the marches.
