Isn't there though a difference between what the "universe" naturally does/creates and what men create?

By example (much like the mount Rushmore example) say we land an some moon/planet somewhere and discovery a "flag" or "mechanical contraption" much like we have left on the moon.

Would the conclusion be:
Said moon supported life at some time?
It just a cosmic anomoly and these things are natural occurances?
Said moon was visited by some life-form?
Humans had actually travel here before?
God put it there to trick us?

A bunch of hypothetical arguments, yeah. But isn't there something to be said for discern the difference between "natural occurance", and "created by something".

Now whether the universe was created by a greater intellect, or is being guide by a greater intellect, why not let the science & research be done to find out?
