for sharing... let me start by saying that's what's valuable about religion... the teaching of morality. Good people don't have to believe in a deity, you and your grandparents did. I often wonder... do you think your grandparents would have been any different had they not believed? I would venture to suggest that no, they wouldn't. Good people are good people. Again, Nucc's a "true Christian (TM)" and it doesn't seem to help him.

Still, people take comfort and direction from faith. But faith in what? Sure, you may have faith that the impossible is possible. Does that mean that we're being deceived by a deity who places evidence here to suggest other than the Bible? Or does that mean the Bible was written by men who wouldn't have known DNA or supernovas if they hit them in the head?

I think believers need to temper their belief with reality. If science is good enough to go to when you're sick, why not when you're well?
