Response to If it LOOKS Like a Pz IV then it must be a Pz IV ????

Let me first begin by saying that at times I am somewhat of a nitpicker/rivet counter. (and yes, I know maybe a few friends and aquaintances who would say "how about all the time" ) Now having gotten that out of the way I have to say I think most of the nitpicking on this kit is way overblown. I have read threads where guys have said, well the turret angles don't "look" right to me, or the hull "looks" too long. Then they go on to tell you by how much it is off, and we're not talking several or a even just a few millimeters, the measurements I have seen have at most have been one and a fraction millimeters, or less. Then there are others that are basing their complaining on plans that may or may not be correct. As someone stated below there could be a measurable difference in the surviving Mk IV's that are being used for these drawings.

The people out there in cyberworld who keep posting this stuff on every modeling site they can get on haven't convinced me that any of these "problems" are truely problems yet. (except for maybe the location of the transmission doors, and I can live with that) I for one would like to see more build articles about this kit like the one James Tainton is doing over on Planetarmor, or the tips Tom C. has posted here. Posts or threads like that have much more worthwhile info in them than the other ones we've been seeing so much of lately.

Until the time when someone can bring forth concrete proof that this stuff is indeed incorrect then they are just making a lot of needless noise.

Just my 2 (not worth much) cents,
Mike
