Response to just opened my Tasca Pz II late. few questions

David,

I built the early Luchs when it first came out and the build is easy. But I have reservations about there being a mesh screen over the large opening in the rear of the engine deck. I have seen both the Bovington and Saumur Luchs and there are no fittings for attaching a screen on the back opening. The Bovington Luchs has a screen but you can tell from the style that it is a post war museum addition. Unfortunately, there are not many good wartime photos that clearly show the engine deck but one photo of a 4.P.D Luchs taken in the winter of 43-44 shows that there was no mesh screen on it. This opening is where the cooling air is expelled so perhaps they thought there would be no possibility of debris being sucked into the engine compartment there.

The WWII Productions track links make a nice addition to the model if you are looking for aftermarket tracks.

Regards,

Tom
