Response to Turning it lightly

Perhaps that explains the aspect of this that's always been a bit of a mystery to me, namely that the projections are oval and not circular, whereas the hubs are circular. If the means of moving the gun involved rotating it a bit, that would explain the need for oval projections. Given the difficulties of carrying out maintenance with the gun in place, it seems odd that the whole superstructure would need dismantling to do so and this would allow it to remain in place.
